Yea so, I got the oppurtunity to play smash64 in person in a tournament, for the first time in years mind you. And used the only guy I knew how, link. since smash64 is my secondary game I will never deviate from playing link, But, the one match up I had some trouble with is dk. Any suggestions on how to go about handling this match up?

projectile spam, don't get grabbed. DK is actually one of Link's better matchups; you should be able to hold your own. All the standard grab-avoidance rules apply (short hop aerials, etc.)

Keep your distance and use your projectiles. Both the boomerang and the bombs are really good for this matchup.
Stay well away from the edges though, as DK is really good at edgeguarding, and link has a terrible recovery.

learn to camp heavily, and I mean heavy. Space back airs/down airs and kill with bomb, boomerang, and up tilt into f-air/f-smash combos.

I wouldn't call it one of his better ones. It's one of the matchups where one mistake can screw you over. A simple example, F-Throw off ledge > fastfall > reverse Neut-B > jump Up-B > edgegrab. Even if they do survive, they get a D-Air to techchase grab off Link's landing lag.

From what I see he's not at the level where this happens anyway, especially if he finds DK his worst matchup. Projectiles, D-Air and good use of U-Tilt should win it for you. Your biggest fear is getting grabbed.

I usually do pretty good matched up with DKs. Because of links strength and DKs high hit points link does good against him.
