LEVEL UP! is a gaming event to benefit LERATA, featuring classic video game titles and a Super Smash Brothers and Mario Kart Tournament that pay tribute to the earliest forms of gaming.

The 2015 LEVEL UP! Tournament will consist of a friendly competition held on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Temporary Space LA. Special prizes are available for Tournament Champion winners for each gaming title! LEVEL UP! aims to engage guests of all skill-levels, whether they choose to participate in friendly player versus player matches for the tournament or individual classic Mario console game play during the event.

The LEVEL UP! Tournament will include classic Nintendo games that everyone (not just tournament participants) can play and enjoy. For even more gaming, the Party Truck Game Center will be at our event with additional consoles and games that you can play both inside and outside the truck (parked just outside Temporary Space LA)!

A silent auction featuring awesome collectibles, coffee and tea baskets, neighborhood-specific bundled gift cards and items, jewelry and more will also take place during LEVEL UP! Also included, the JENGA world champion will be there to accept challenges on one of two JENGA Giants, items which will also be included in the silent auction to bid on. The event will include appetizers and an open beer and wine bar – all games, food and drink are included with the ticket price.

The LERATA Café, located inside Temporary Space LA, will be open during the event, and features not only an open beer and wine bar (must be 21 and up) but also gourmet pourover coffee by Compelling and Rich, boutique tea selections by local August Uncommon, and traditional iced items. While sales proceeds normally benefit LERATA, all items will be complimentary during the Tournament event.


Final Tournament will be held October 10, 2015 from 7pm – 11pm at Temporary Space LA, 5522 Wilshire Blvd.

The LEVEL UP! Tournament Championship location, Temporary Space LA, is a working, physical art space exhibiting Part Two of Signs & Alarms, featuring artists Scott Grieger and Margaret Nielsen. This exhibition includes a unique digital experience (via IPad provided to guests in the space) including state-of-the-art augmented reality and image recognition tools. Guests will also receive complimentary goodie bags, featuring the #TemporarySketchbook, Margaret Nielsen calendar, postcards and more, while supplies last.
