Let's talk about Cosmetics!

I know everyone is excited to see move sets, final smashes, animations, etc. But I'd like to talk about the fun stuff! Examples would be; Costume Colors/Alternate Costumes, Taunts, and so on.

I have a specific taunt in mind I would love to see in the game.

(UP): Mona hops on stage and High Fives Joker (much like baton pass) while saying his classic line, "Looking Cool Joker"

Also looking forward to the reversed on color scheme. White Coat, White Shirt, Red Gloves.

I imagine his colors will be refrences to his other party members, kinda like Shulk. I can also see him getting his school uniform as an alternate costume.

Word on the street (from an interview over a year ago), Sakurai absolutely loved the game. Like, he was praising Persona 5 to heaven and back and even went so far as based Smash Ultimate's UI on Persona 5's.

So yeah, Sakurai absolutely loved the game; that's probably why Joker made it in to begin with. Somewhere else (I dont have a link for this) it was said that when it was mentioned that the DLC was 'Nintendo's Decision', Sakurai was apart of that 'Nintendo' and was the major factor behind Joker's inclusion to begin with.

Keeping that in mind, coupled with how much he's been praising the game since its release, it may not be out of the realm of possibility to imagine a lot of love going into this particular DLC character. And I mean a lot of love; like several Music tracks or maybe even more 'detailed' Alt colors for him to better showcase the rest of the cast.

All speculation on my part, of course, but with as much as Sakurai was saying, I don't think its entirely impossible. I've got no idea on what would be the stage coming with it, though. If we're lucky; maybe a stage that transitions between the different Palaces, but who knows.

I'm guessing one of his taunts will be the pose after the All Out attack (if he does not get that as his FS), one would be him showing/throwing a calling card and the other one would be doing something flashy with his mask and Arsene (if he has multiple-personas, with whichever persona he has equipped)

I'm hoping his run animation has the splashes he leaves when he runs in palaces.

As alts, I'm guessing they would showcase his team members:
Morgana - White gloves, yellow shirt, blue mask
Skull - Grey shirt and pants, yellow gloves, grey mask
Inari - Blue gloves, White pants
Panckakechi - Red sleeves, Red mask, white shirt, coat and pants.
Panther - All red.
Queen - All dark blue, grey mask and white gloves
Noir - Pink coat, Hot pink gloves, black mask, brown shirt, black pants
Oracle - Futaba-green coat, black gloves with green fingertips, all rest black.

I can see them leaving out Yusuke or Morgana for his School uniform and/or his casual clothes.

As for stage, I really really REALLY would love the the Casino Palace, but its more likely to be either Kamoshida's Castle or Mementos.
Soundtrack: ALL OF IT (except the mementos loop).

Logo: If they are representing ALL persona, perhaps Philemon. If only Persona 5, the Phantom Thieves logo.

Maybe it’s just me, but I also think it would be dope if they had his prisoner outfit as an option, too. I imagine that that would probably be pretty low priority though...If only we could pick more than eight costumes...

I have a feeling the alts are just gonna be reskins referencing the eight main party members - Joker, Ryuji, Morgana, Yusuke, Makoto, Futaba, and Haru.

However, I feel like there’s just so much more that you could do. After all, there are so many outfits available in the game, and so many colorful characters that it’s hard to capture all of that into eight costumes.

With all of this in mind, this was the best job I could do with referencing most of the main cast, while also having alts that are interesting, unique, and properly reference Joker and Persona 5 as a whole.

Default

Yellow shirt, black coat and pants, yellow gloves, blonde hair, black mask. Reference to both Skull and Mona. Also a nod to Persona 4’s color scheme.

White shirt, dark blue coat, black pants, bright blue gloves, brown hair, white mask. Reference to Fox and Queen.

Red shirt, white coat, white pants, red gloves, white hair, red mask. Reference to Panther and Crow, as well as a sort of inverse of Joker’s default.

Pink shirt, white coat, tan pants, pink gloves, light brown hair, black mask. Reference to both Sojiro and Noir.

Green shirt, black coat and pants, lime green gloves, orange hair, green mask. Reference to Oracle.

Winter school uniform.

The last two would be costumes, opposed to recolors, of course. I feel like it’s definitely important to have the school uniform, considering it’s Joker’s main outfit for about half of the game. I also think that with the consistent themes of justice, imprisonment, breaking free, and so on, along with Joker just straight up being jailed a lot, having a prisoner outfit would make sense.

Yeah it’s tough. There are so many options and sadly only 8 slots. However, I never really thought of Akechi as an echo. That would be pretty perfect, honestly. Although I doubt that they would go for that. I’m just really excited to see what they do. I have faith that Sakurai is gonna do Persona 5 a lot of justice.

Seeing as even P5's marketing doesn't consider Akechi a PT (he's the only one whose PT attire has no official art): I see Joker's palettes being:

Default, Skull, Panther, Fox, Queen, Oracle, Noir

They may possibly omit Mona since the only major difference are the gloves otherwise that's 8 alts for all 8 PTs. If they want to give him special alts, his school uniform would be the best bet.
