When I was little I got a card game pack containing some fun little cartoon themes, one of them was Go Fish and it's theme was, naturally, fish. It's how I got introduced to it. (I actually still have those card games in a cabinet along with several other card and board games)

And yeah I know of a lot of card games, and Go Fish is the easiest to learn and play by far. You should try playing it sometime. Simple as it is, it's pretty fun.
