charizard seems to have some decent options out of a trump using a ledge hop. All of his aerials have applications. Anyone have particular success with this strategy or is it best to stay safe and punish get ups?

I have had great success ledge trumping and then waiting on the stage to see if they regrab in certain matchups. You can get super early KOs if you hit them with an fsmash as they regrab. You can also KO with dsmash towards mid percent or gimp characters with particularly poor horizontal recovery. If they try to land onstage with an aerial you can typically get usmash or fly oos. Bair is not guaranteed after a ledge trump so I have found this to be the most optimal. This doesn't quite work as well in some matchups though. Characters that have specials which send them a long way horizontally can play around Zard's ledge trump setups much better.

Trumps are a great option in general but the risk of the opponent inputting their getup option fast enough can make it a very "high risk high reward" type of thing in MUs where it's hard for Zard to get stage control (ex. Villager).

Ledge trumping is one of the best options, because you'll have invincibility and it your opponent grabs the legde again, they won't have invincibility, making them venerable and a early kill.
