However, I can confirm one thing

that image that had all the Nintendo characters is EPIC and gave me enormous Melee flashbacks

The Miis in question are from AKB48 (you might know from SUGAR RUSH in Wreck-it Ralph), a popular idol group in Japan, so it's mostly promotional, but also showing off the Mii Fighters, which I suppose would be unlocked from the start. If I remember correctly, a member also appeared in one of the Hyrule Warriors streams to celebrate going gold.

Apparently it is an "idol group" of Miis. So it is probably just a joke for the sake of the trailer.
