:213: Hello everyone, I'm Master Shuckle :213: My scans ---->http://mastershuckle.imgur.com/

I live in japan and I recently saw that Nintendo Dream Magazines are now hosting key Smash Bros information.
So I have taken it upon myself to purchase, scan, upload, and share with everyone. Since living in Japan has a brought a few new outlets for information I wanted to do my part and share all the information I can get my hands on. As I am an American Living in Japan my Japanese language skills are for travailing only, I cannot read nor understand Kanji. So if the community would like to translate these scans that would be amazing of you!

Appreciate it. Mostly old PotD, but maybe we'll find something juicy once they're translated.

If @ XKan XKan is ever bored, he could take a look at these. :b I'm afraid I need to head off for the day, so I won't be looking at them until tomorrow.

Hello, I am relatively new to the site, in terms of finding outlets for my tournaments ans trying to give good scans of my local Japanese book stores. When ever there is new news I can scan them and put them onto this site for people to look at. Also If you live in Japan, in the Kyushu Island, then you should stop by my launch party/tournament for money matches and other goodies.

When the book store opens I'm going to purchases the new Nintendo Dream, and then High-res scan it to the website. I cannot wait for the special Start up guide book that it comes with. yes I will scan that as well.

Quick question, where should I post the new scans, so that I do not mess up any forums or perhaps post them in the wrong location

You can continue to post them in this thread. Edit them into the main post whenever you get something new, and post in this thread again to let us know you've made the addition. :)

I am deeply sorry, I do not understand. I should post it on the "Super Smash Bros. for Wii U General Discussion"
then how do I link it to this forum post?
I just want make sure that I do not mess up your instructions.

No need to apologize. It is my pleasure to aid you.

Post it into this very thread using the "Edit" feature. You can go to your first post and Edit it to make changes and additions. After you've done that, you can post in this thread that the addition has made. This will bring the thread to the top of the Wii U forum, alerting users that there is new content.

As for linking it, imgur is a good way. You can post it like this:

[collapse="Issue 7/19"]

[/collapse] As you can see, I have uploaded all the images to somewhere more convenient for sharing, and have put them into collapse tags for the sake of saving screen real-estate. The exact code used for this operation looks like this:
Code:
[collapse="Issue 7/19"]
[IMG]http://i.imgur.com/BvSBENM.jpg[/IMG]
[IMG]http://i.imgur.com/fzY8eNf.jpg[/IMG]
[IMG]http://i.imgur.com/YnFSArY.jpg[/IMG]
[IMG]http://i.imgur.com/pcKbuoA.jpg[/IMG]
[IMG]http://i.imgur.com/0Vt0LWm.jpg[/IMG]
[IMG]http://i.imgur.com/msVqFIl.jpg[/IMG]
[IMG]http://i.imgur.com/s9dKBK5.jpg[/IMG]
[IMG]http://i.imgur.com/6VqjGgt.jpg[/IMG]
[/collapse]

Everything between [collapse] and [/collapse] is condensed.
Alternatively, if you are unable to figure it out, you can always message me with the scans you have, and I'll edit it into the first post for you. Since these scans provide interesting information, I certainly don't mind helping you out. :)

I took a look at the first few pages, it seems to be a good bit of summary of catching potential newcomers and those who have not been following the game up to speed, as we figured.

Here is the first page translated, I may get to the others later on, but other business may come in the way. Though, I am still open if anybody wants specific parts translated. : )

For the above poster (I couldn't spell that username out for the "@" function ^^; ), I translated that little bit in the other thread, but will do so here too:

"That silhouette in the top right of the above image…is that Dark Pit, perhaps? Considering he was shown to us in a movie about Palutena’s inclusion to Smash Bros, is there a possibility that Dark Pit will want to be included?"

The one image that I was a bit confused at was the Mii Fighter costume choices. From what I researched that their hats are the Mii plaza hats, but I keep reading on the page that a daisy hat is there? I see Mario Luigi, Peach and Daisy?
But the kanji is stopping me from reading the clothing. also perhaps the dark pit/pitoo mini section

I would come if it wasn't for me being a filthy gaijin but it would be cool we could exchange friend codes and I can play you when ssb4 comes to the states. :-)

You do not have to downgrade yourself. I am an American living Japan hosting tournaments. My next event is for other foreigners to play the 3DS version before the worldwide release. All people are welcomed. my tournament is listed in the event section for 9/28

Fighter Vol. 1
FIRE EMBLEM

1. Her skill with a blade is like Marth's! Lucina, the girl who knows the future, joins the fray.
From the 3DS's Fire Emblem Awakening comes the electrifying inclusion of the female swordsman wielding the Parallel Falchion, Lucina! Though she holds the same power as Marth, she has the distinction that even if you don't strike with the blade's tip she can still show off a good amount of power!

Masked Lucina also makes an appearance!
--> It's the mask she wears to hide her true identity. In Smash Bros, her default appearance is without the mask.

She has the same special moves as Marth!

<--^ Here she's using the specials "Shield Breaker" and "Counter"
--> even though the attacks are the same, it seems like her fighting style will be totally different from Marth's in that her timing is different, among other things.
2
*boring stuff about how they have a great article*

A new challenger from Awakening!
2. The soldier who cleverly delves in both the sword and magic, Robin joins the fray!

The unit who takes on the role of the player, you were able to customize his/her sex and appearance. Fighting with a sword in the right hand and a tome in the left, he can use the powerful Thunder Sword with a smash attack. There is a usage counter for both the Thunder Sword and his special attacks, and recovery takes a bit of time.

^ Neutral Special: Thunder
A projectile that you can charge up and even cancel.

^ Side Special: Arcfire
An attack diagonal and down, if it hits something it burns upwards in a pillar of fire.

Smash attacks use the Thunder Sword
<-- Even in the air, inputting a smash attack will release the Thunder Sword. Both the power and reach is better than a regular sword.

v Up Special: Elwind
If you fire it down twice in the air you can increase the vigor of your jump.

v Down Special: Resire
An attack that continuously damages the opponent while recovering your HP.

3. Chrom makes an appearance as Robin's Final Smash.
Robin's final smash, "Dual Attack," is a combination of Robin and the character, Chrom. It also recovers the counter on the Thunder Sword and spell tome.

Chrom makes the assault under the protection of magic. Robin hangs back and covers Chrom with his magic while Chrom repeatedly slices the opponent.
3
The veteran racer and 2 others!
4. The man faster than the sound barrier has returned again! Captain Falcon joins the fray!

It's confirmed that the veteran hero Captain Falcon who has appeared since the first Smash Bros entry will be returning in this installment! The top racer from the "F-Zero" series will light up the battle with his lightning speed. Starting with his extreme, boundless "Falcon Punch" he'll bring back all his familiar special attacks.

--> compared with his last appearance, his hip holster and knees have changed a little in their design.
<-- he doesn't have any projectile attacks, but he's good at using extreme martial attacks.
Which one will win in their punching showdown?

His attacks are just like they were until now!
^<-- It uses quite a large gesture, but it enchanting and beyond powerful attacks are sticking around this time, too.

Final Smash: Blue Falcon
Just like in the previous installment, he'll send foes flying with his beloved race car, the Blue Falcon!

5. Taking apart Palutena's 14 miracles!

Heaven's Light: a pillar of light going up.
Rocket Jump: jumping off the ground along with an explosion
Glider Jump: after jumping, she can glide a little
Human Missile: launching her body sideways like a missile

Flare: she explodes an area in front of her
Reflector: she can turn opponents' projectiles back on them
Counter: she'll take in opponents' attacks and counter them
Rising Fireworks: attacking opponents by launching fireworks directly above her.

Teleport: disappearing and reappearing in an instant.
Auto-Aim: she'll automatically aim and launch a projectile.
Extreme Speed Dash: a forceful dash that sends opponents flying
Lowering Weight: her movement speed will increase by a lot

6. The shadow of Dark Pit seen here and there.
The dark silhouette in the upper right of the picture above... could it be Dark Pit? He can also be seen in the Palutena debut video, so you probably want him to make an appearance in the game, right?
^^ lol, you can see with palutena's part i just lost my **** and no longer cared. too many text boxes.

4
7. Filled with eastereggs, let's find the source for Pacman's moveset.

Pacman has a lot of moves stemming from his appearance on the original Nintendo. With a lot of pixelated moves, he'll have a big visual impact.

Fire Hydrant
This attack uses the water that is expelled from a fire hydrant. There was a similar setup in a stage in PacLand.

Fighter
He'll show off a lot of Namco characters with his up-taunt. Even battle machines from the shoot'em'up, Galaga.

Fruit
His neutral special, Fruit Target, will have him attacking with the fruit that were a score item in Pacman.

Ghost Eyes
In Pacman, when a monster is eaten only their eyes are visible when they return to their home. So... whose eyes are these...?

Monster
These familiar villains will help out Pacman by becoming an attack? They'll also have several varieties and colors...※

8. Gamers should know this -- A little bit about Pacman's related stage.

It's not just in Pacman's moves themselves, but there's also a lot to see in his stage. on wii u, there is a stage based on "PacLand" and on 3Ds one on "Pacman."

The Fairy
The objective of PacLand was to escort a lost fairy back to its country.

Keys
They were an item required for opening doors, but what purpose do they have in Smash...?

Magic Shoes
These are an item you received from a fairy princess after helping the fairy for a while. With these shoes, Pacman could jump multiple times in the air.

Power Pellets
After eating 100 pellets, a power pellet appears. With this, you can defeat monsters. they appear on the stage, "PacMaze," based on "Pacman."

9. *not doing this part because it's just trivia about Pacman's history*
※ not sure if this means there will only be color variations or if there will be other monsters that aren't just ghosts. it's kind of intentionally leaving something out (though whether that's changes in power/behavior or actual different monsters is not quite clear to me).

ok, i'm like really tired and it's annoying to flip back and forth between tabs when this'll just be translated by a team who'll do it much nicer anyway, so imma just give you guys the gist of each page. (it doesn't really matter anymore, though, because all the rest of the stuff seems to be stuff we already know and no longer detailed moveset stuff).

5
you can customize the moves and appearance of your mii fighters. there's also a mid-range fighter option possible by sticking projectile attacks on swordsmen-types. gunners' weapons can also be customized
6
there's a bit going over confirmed pokemon from the Kalos region. everyone already should know these from videos and the charizard debut video. it doesn't get very specific outside a few names.

on the grassy field mario stage getting 100 coins turns you into a more powerful golden fighter.

this fire emblem stage changes format. we've all seen the vids.

yes, pink mac is in as we know.
same with skyward influenced link.

nabit comes to mario u stage and can steal players.

the boomerang is stronger on the way back, rocketpack obviously helps you recover.
7
different characters that also appear as trophies, and enemies and stuff. you can see them yourself.

every character's got 12 customization options that you can use with friends online but not in randoms.

each character can equip items to change their stats (the biggest amount that can be held is 3). doesn't tell us what modes this works in other than seemingly smash run (odd given that the first screenshot looks like wii u and smash run is supposed to be 3ds only), but the stats are attack, defense, and speed. it doesn't actually say that your smash run stats change with your equipment, but i assume they do; either way, you can gain more items by playing smash run. it says slow/heavy characters can carry more items.
8
you can select a player on the touchscreen and have them highlighted with a targeting reticle thing on the top screen. old news.

the color of the bottom of your starting platform after you die changes as it gets ready to disappear.
you can play for glory or for fun. . . . . how novel.
figure rush...
home run contest...
and the way they changed character poses so that they are always facing forward no matter if they are looking left and right
yeah, there was only newish information in the first few pages that went into a little detail on new characters' movesets.

As @ 25%Cotton 25%Cotton fills in the above, I'll edit this post to bridge localization for English-speaking fans.

For reference:

Giga Fire = It's correct. For English-speakers, the third tier of spells (Arc) is "Giga" in Japanese, so Giga Fire = Arcfire.
L-Wind = Elwind. Second tier wind magic in Fire Emblem.
Lisire = Actually "Resire" in Japanese. In English, it's known as Nosferatu.
Double = "Dual Attack", or Dual Strike in English.

Living in a rule area has it's ups and downs. Getting merchandise on time is pretty difficult, but the peaceful atmosphere is amazing.
The magazine is late to to weather interference lately. we had major flooding, people in Yokohama died in a mud slide a few days ago.

Yeah. That area got ravaged horribly earlier this year. It's prone to devastating weather.

Just worry about yourself, mate. Get it whenever it is most convenient for you. We rather know that you and the locals are safe than have some magazines scans a day early. If shipment was delayed, it happened for a good reason.

Thank you so much! If you live in Kyushu, you should swing by my hometown for some of the tournaments that I host, you could crash at my place if you need a place to stay. I always love meeting new smash players in Japan especially when they can speak english.

Thanks again for your help! Have an awesome day ^-^

the key is part of the PacLand stage.
