Ok, this problem's occurred several times, when I hit the power button to turn the comp on, the screen where it shows the name of the brand and loads, freezes and doesn't start. The loading bar freezes so it doesn't start. I have sent it to the store I got it from for repair and the problem was fixed but after a short period of working okay, the same problem occurred again. Has this happened to any of you guys? I mean I have norton and spyware n all, so I don't think virus's are the case, I may be wrong though.

Ok what kind of laptop is it? Chances are you will still be able to start up in Safe Mode. on the loading screen hit F2....or maybe it was F12. Well either one, and go to startup options>safe mode>start windows in safe mode. That should allow you to login temporally while you find the problem

i would log into safe mode with networking, go onto the website of your laptops manufacturer, and update the bios. it looks as if thats the problem

ok guys, I have the most ghetto way of starting this thing, when the loading thing freezes, I tilt the laptop upwards, and it loads then starts, is it possible this occurred because someone might have dropped it?

 It starts when you tilt it? Sounds like a mechanical problem then. Ya someone may have dropped it, but my guess is that it was assembled poorly. Well either way something inside the laptop isn't fully connected anymore, and when you tilt it it sorta pushes it back. Must be a cheap brand.

My guess: The hard drive. It probably gets as far as booting the BIOS, which is contained directly on the motherboard, but when it looks at the hard drive to load the operating system, it doesn't work. The hard drive is probably the component that would be most affected by tilting the computer.

See if you can test it with a different (working) hard drive, and if that works, just replace it. Hard drives are pretty cheap, and you'll probably get a bigger/faster one than the one you had before. Have fun reinstalling everything, though.

Although you can always send in your hard drive to have it fixed and/or the data recovered.

But I haven't even seen the computer, so I can't be sure it's the hard drive.
