I guess the East Coast sucks at this game then, cause basically everyone except M2K and MegaVolt use Pikachu in tourney
But yeah, of course not everyone plays this character, which is why my post wasn't ssoo serious about it. I called it nothing more then a term which I might as well call the game as. I mean, people also joke around about "Melee is only 4 characters". Just like how Falco/Fox/Marth/Sheik are popular tourney characters, so is Pikachu. But hey, you can use CFalcon, IC, Samus, and JigglyPuff in Melee and still do very well, as for 64, there's CFalcon, Fox, Kirby, w/e. But yeah, no one is as good as Pikachu like how Falco/Fox/Sheik/Marth are bundled together. That being said, there's obviously a reason why the term even came to be. Nevertheless, I never made it a valid statement.

I didn't even think NJ was all that good in melee >_>

Hmm I dont know about you, one second you sound like you are knowlageable, the next you sound like you live in a cave and dont want to come out...(or maybe came out once, seen something, then ran back in) I think your information comes from new (newish anyways) tournys...and with the fact that SSB64 is allmost dead, only a few good players even play any more...and the ones that DO, just so happen to main, or tourny play Pikachu.

What about the Tournament winners from 2000-2001? I bet you could find a healthy selection of Charactures winning tournys...again the best of those maybe Pikachu, but the point im trying to make is SSB64 is not Super Pikachu 64.

Dont compare Melee tourny scene to Smash64, we are of a diffrent race.

Also where the amount of Chars selectable in Smash64 was low, chances are higher that people will use one char more then another, just because there are less options.

People who play Smash64 now are turning to pikachu and Kirby as a last ditch "I wanna ****" attempt, i i dont think you should take that and say "Super Pikachu 64" its crazy!!!¿

Yes, I don't really follow up on the 64 scene since it's almost dead. But, what I said wasn't supposed to imply me comparing the tournament scene of 64 to Melee in general, rather, narrow down to how how people in tournaments always tend to use the dominant character(s), but that's whatever.

Also, I had to ask that last question given the fact I get so many replies ;p
