Kongo Jungle 64 vs Pokemon Stadium

Hey all, a small introduction first:

I was first introduced to this game a little more than 2 years ago by a coworker and immediately dived into the competitive scene. I am a post genesis II kid which means when I started the stage list was as it is now, minus the no ban Bo5. This is important as I feel it adds context to the question I am asking.

I recently moved to San Antonio Texas and basically became the Hub for all smash fests and tournaments in the area. Being a TO, I started thinking about what the difference is between a Bo3 set with bans and a Bo5 with no bans.

I think there are actually 2 tier lists relevant to competitive play, each specific to the 2 set types we have(Europe actually boast a 3rd with hit's Bo7 sets, but it's not relevant to me so I won't go into it. Basically in a Bo3 set, everyone loses their best Counter Picks(in theory), while Bo5 rely on you getting it and winning on it at least once. In the most extreme of examples, the Fox/Marth matchup swings a lot when Marth is guaranteed his most dominant stage against a space animal, making Marth more valuable in a Bo5 set than a Bo3 set for that matchup.

From what I understand, prior to the current stage list, we had 4 additional CP stages which included Brinstar, Corneria, Mute City, Rainbow Cruise and Kongo Jungle 64. Pokemon Stadium was the only one who survived the culling, though KJ64 survived in teams.

Side bar for context sake: Fox and Falco, from what data I can gather have been considered the top 2 characters for the last 4 years, and Fox has been considered the top character for close to 7 years. From what I understand(correct me if I am wrong) most of the stages lost before the current stage list are gone because of these 2 characters' dominance on them().

Going to own up and admit I have a strong bias against Pokemon Stadium. I love the neutral, but the stage is full of jank(though no random elements aside from which transformations you get). I avoid it like the plague for fear of the rock and water transformations. I've had a high level set at one of my locals end when one of my attendants fell through the tree(Wouldn't feel to bad about it, it was his counter pick). The stage also allows for several contextual infinite and is a very strong cp for spacies, already dominant characters.

I also have a bias towards Kongo Jungle, being a Falcon main. It's a very strong stage for him. Other than how the floor works(Jank I think is more interesting than the walls PS creates), and the barrel(Is it on a timer like Randal?) KJ64 is low on Jank, to a point that it was at least kept around for teams.

So as some one not from the era where this decision was made, Why did KJ64 go and why did PS stay? What characters would be stronger if we lost PS and gained KJ64? Which would be weaker? Would this only affect Bo5 or Bo3? Would it affect both?

TLDR:
If Kongo Jungle 64 replaced Pokemon Stadium how would this affect character viability? Discuss.

KJ64 is actually way worse than Stadium as far as helping out spacies because slow characters have almost no chance of catching them if they decide to just jump around on the top platforms and run away. As much as people complain about stadium's transformations killing the pace of the match or whatever, they eventually go away and the match keeps going. On KJ64 if Fox/Falco/Falcon don't want to deal with you they don't really have to unless you're one of those three characters and maybe like Sheik, and even then that's kinda iffy.
