You should know, stalker!
Does any one remember the link stage on the N64 smash? That was my favorite stage of the ssm, but yet, they didn't put it back into the melee as a classic stage :( . I think they should enter that stage into the game again. It was really fun.

Big Blue was the best stage in melee ! Such fun =P
I hope they let us use music tracks from melee because I really like them all, would never change them for any other.

And regarding stages, I really liked Mute City, it was plain some times, then tons of platforms appear.. it requiers more skill than other Torunament-legal stages and is more entertaining to watch and play.

Pd: Yeah Hyrule Temple N64 was awesome (i didnt like the tornados tough...). And Sapphron City N64 with imporved graphics would kickaz in brawl-

Lol, yeah, you'll get flamed for this...

How about this situation... you're in the finals for a major tourney, and you and your opponent are both at high % and last stock, it's the last game of the set, and you're currently in a very easy position to finish off the opponent with some type of ledgegaurd, suddenly a bob-omb appears a couple feet above your head and explodes on you. You lose the tournament.

...yup, items are cool in competitive play.

Anyways, my opinion of the whole stage matter is, as long as they put FD back in, or something very similiar to FD, I'll be happy.
thanks for reading my post carefully, and noting that i said "obviously no hammers, shells, etc.(WHICH INCLUDES BOM OMBS)" and "every stage favours one character more than another."

look, i thought exactly the same as you until recently. I just thought it would open up so many doors for shut down characters, marth vs fox OVER AND OVER, and breathe new life into a dying game. But i guess with brawl around the corner, it doesnt matter.

Even if the only item was a star rod on very low, i'd be happy. Hell, Peach can pull out bom ombs, and beam swords, and saturns, and her down B isnt banned.

FD and Battlefield are awsome, but we need soem stages to spice it up, simple and unsimple. Like Mute City, Rainbow Cruise, FoD, Yoshi's Story, Dreamland 64, Congo Jungle (64), pokémon Stadium (1 and 2), Mario Kart, Shadow Moses Island, Smashville, Kongo Jungle (Melee), Rumble Falls, Castle Siege, Wario Ware, Lylat Cruise, Delfino Plaza, and Peach's Castle (64), just to name a few. We need variation, and we're getting it. Remeber, your opinions aren't the only ones that matter, so Sakurai is going to try and please us all with many diverse stages. :)
