Oohhhhh, Abadango got 4th at EVO.... There's almost no way you'll beat him. He uses mostly, but also and maybe but I think he dropped him. Never heard of the rest of them

I was thinking about going, but signups were already closed when I found out the tournament existed. I think smashboards only put their notice up there like a week before registration closed
I believe I know Sov, but I don't know what he plays in smash 4. I don't even remember what he played in brawl! Some of the other names look vaguely familliar, but I don't really know anything.
Everybody knows Abadango, famous Japanese Pac man main. Except he also uses Wario. Or maybe he uses Meta Knight now. :/?!?
Also Triple R could totes win if he plays smart

Also, is this as big as EVO and APEX? Or less than CEO? And if the latter, than what tournament is as big as it?

Edit:Also, going by how no one knows about anyone else, chances are you will end up in finals in this pool with Abadango. Which mean's you get past this pool.

I have always found Pac Man a hellish matchup for kirby. I hope you fare better than I do.

I thought Pac Men thought Kirby had an unusually good matchup against them. I haven't played a good one in person, but Kirby has better tools to deal with Pac's shenanigans than some high tier characters. Small size and multijumps help a lot, as well as being able to Copy his power and use it against him is huge.

Okay, so I searched up each name (Except for ruins since that's a real word) and this is what I found:

Fogel appears to use Fox. Apprantatly got only 25th at an Australian tournament so he shouldn't be a threat.

Serge made it to top 3 at a tournament with Leo, used Marth and Link.

Squebbles appears to use Sheik.

He might use Metaknight in pools but assuming he goes Pacman remember that you can throw out any hit and get rid of the hitbox on the moving hydrant/fruits, which for some characters is safer than airdodging. I'd imagine Kirby can RAR bair a hydrant coming at him pretty quickly.

That sucks! Yeah, I know a lot of people were surprised by the original cap. Big House as always been on my radar since people from MN have gone for the last 3-4 years. Depending on where you live in OH, you probably aren't even that far away from the tourney either The funny thing about MN is, even though we're are Midwest too, there's a lake in our way to drive there. We can have a similar drive to people on the East Coast. The MW is too big!

Serge: I guess I would have to look at this guy more. Not too concerned about the characters, but he sounds like a guy that I could have no problems with or I'm surprised about.

If I do fight Abadango, the main issue is his characters. While I have played against all these characters before. I don't think I have played anyone near on this level with these characters. On the other hand, I wonder how popular Kirby is in Japan lol. Thanks for the tid bit on the hitbox clanking with the fruits/hydrants. I might mess with around with Pac Man some early this week to get a feel for my own fruits and stuff. Couldn't hurt.

Oh yeah! I forgot! Japan doesn't have a single Kirby IIRC, so Abadango won't know crap

I don't know if Kirby can do this, but Pac Man can cancel into any of his other specials when using the fruit. Not sure what this would really do with Kirby (Final Cutter Spike towards the ledge? One can dream I guess), but I know a lot of Pac Man's only air dodge, so you do have other options! I might be wrong but I think you can jump out of it, too? I know you can "special cancel" it but I don't know about jump. And if he goes Meta Knight, Forward Throw -> Mach Tornado is great at mid %s.

Good job Triple R. You did your best. Honestly, Abadango is just a whole another kind of player.

I hope they buff Kirby's Final Cutter. I think it would really give him the edge in the neutral against Meta Knight.
