Well, the forums see to be a bit quiet so I figured maybe this thread will help us spice things up a bit. We can talk about anything, as long as it has to do with the fluff ball!

So did you guys start using Kirby in Brawl or have you used him in Melee/or N64?

Yeah I probably am also.

I played Kirby in 64 but stopped in Melee because I thought Pikachu was cuter....but now I'm back.

I like all the colors of Kirby and switch...

Btw, ham is good too.

Also, what are some good combos? I know the Gonzo (Fthrow, uair x2) I was wondering what else is a main combo?

Kirby is the main reason why I play Smash. Matter in fact, Kirby is one of the reason that Pink is my third favroite color and I'm a guy. O_o

I'm comparing the two as I speak to say if this is worth buying if you have Super Star already or not. And so far, it's worth buying even if you have Super Star for the SNES.

Kirby is just the kind of game I could sit down during a road trip and just play for ages.

It's not like my other games (Phoenix Wright) where I prefer to be somewhere comfortable and stationary and in my room when I play it.

Same here ^_^ except I used Silver Kirby more than blue in Melee >_>
I started using silver in Brawl, but then I remembered my N64 roots and realized I liked the blue much better anyway.

My 9 year old brother has that...it's pretty good, but I get so bored playing it for any length of time :/

The only Kirby game I have is Kirby's Dreamland 2 for Game Boy Color (ftw). I also played Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards! quite extensively, either by renting it or borrowing it from a friend. Cool game 8) I loved the fact that you could mix powers to form new powers in that. Darth Maul Kirby is epic.

I keep hearing good things about Super Star. I have a SNES, but not that game. I guess I could get it with wiipoints. And what's so good about the DS version?


Personally, I think the remakes ruin the classics. Like Super Mario (64) DS...it added characters to play other than Mario, and that makes it...weird >_>
And the remake for Advance of the SNES classic Super Mario World adds more ... how do I say it.... modern sounds, and it's lame. Same with the Yoshi's Island remakes. -_-

Here's my advice: I know this is the Kirby forum, but if any of you have not played The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, GET IT. I have it for Super Nintendo, it's so great.

Super star has several Kirby adventures in one.

The Great Cave Offensive, The Revenge of Metaknight, Milkyway Wishes, Gourmet Race...

It's just too good.

I had no idea...but that seems to be the only explanation. It wasn't in any other game, was it?

Megaton Punch!

Kirby Superstar is the best game and for a simple reason: excellent 2-player game.
Also, Kirby's games are always happy, with bright colours but Kirby 64 has gone over the edge on that. It's really easy too.

I did a bit when I was younger. Watch it on youtube in Japanese though, it's better

It's called Hoshi no Kaabii.

It's still kinda boring though, the only reason it's good is because...Kirby's in it. The actual episodes are pretty boring.

Back to the quote: Even though this is one of my top favroite anime, (mainly because of Tiff/Fumu), I have to agree with you. The anime didn't describe Kirby as in the games that well, it just describe how he got started to be a well known hero at a very young age. But the sweetest epsoides is the Air Ride Machine epsoide, (mainly because of the love I have for Kirby Air Ride). :D

But for real, the final epsoides was the best, just that most of them.... didn't use Kirby's styile, I don't remember Kirby getting beaten to death and end up comming back at the end. T_T

Plus, Triple D sounds like a black guy in the english version.

I actually only recently started Kirby. I was actually a DDD main for a while, but I seemed to get worse and worse the more I played him. I decided to play Kirby one time just for the hell of it, and all of a sudden, I'm maining him. Go figure.

And when does SSDS come out, or has it already?

But I need some help. I keep getting grabbed.

Is it because I'm overaggressive or because just bad at spacing? Any tips on not too?

Edit; I think it's because I grab too much in my game, leaving me vulnerable.

what? You're getting grabbed as Kirby...against who? The sad thing about brawl is that any aerial approach that is blocked and leaves you right next to your opponent WILL get punished by a grab or fast attack.

Like I will get him up to ~50 get grabbed and then it's even...but I feel it's just stupidness on my part. I do a lot of ariel/grabs so that's probably why....
