Kid Icarus: The Musical

It’s been a while, but we’ve been given another musical update. Todays tune, “Kid Icarus: The Underworld” is comprised of the Grim Reapers theme and the Game Over Theme. Despite this, the music is still rather bubbly and cheerful. The arrangement supervisor for this is Sakai Shougo (Also spelt Shogo) who worked in HAL Labs on Smash Bros Melee, Mother 3 and Various Kirby Games.

I’ve been looking forward to this update for a while. I always thought the Kid Icarus theme would sound great with trumpets. This was not exactly what I imagined, but still good.

Am I the only one who thinks the music in Brawl sounds… less good than Melee? I mean, the main theme is great, but these clips Sakurai is giving us… is it me? Or do they sound not orchestral? Computer generated.

I’m hoping that maybe these samples are low res versions and in the final game we’ll hear the real superfine arrangements.

Dude, EvilToad01 are you crazy. The brawl songs are beyond better than the melee songs (I still can’t see why they put in the DK rap). They are going to be better when brawl comes out (sakurai’s only giving us low rep). Nice song, not the best one though.

No, no, no, don’t get me wrong. The melodies are great. I’m just talking about the quality of the sound. Like compare this Kid Icarus theme with Fountain of Dreams from Melee. It just doesn’t seem like there are all live instruments being used on all of these.

cool song but dosent seam to match the atmosphere of sky world (hint at a new stage?) alot of the music is full orcastra music but i think this one is ment to have a more retro feel (retro stage?) the songs probably a bit longer the this but its a nice taste. oh and if they make a new kid icarus game it should be for DS, have 6 worlds, (underworld, ocean, overworld, mount olympus, clouds, and a side scrolling shooter palace level) you should be able to switch your bow to any of the first 3 tresures ( blades, shield, and some kind of grapling hook or bomerang) and automatic touch sreen items (that crystal thing, a bottle, a feather, a hammer, some kind of ligtning bolt, and a few other things) i’v had this idea for quite a long time so tell me what you think of it .

It’s fake. I could list off a large number of reasonsl, but the easiest reason, is look at the picture of Fox. That’s not Brawl Fox, that’s SF:A Fox.

So yeah, it’s totally fake… The first thing i saw was that the Sonic picture is old, and they would make a pic for Brawl. Also, DK is not the Brawl version of himself either. Horribly fake.

Anyway, I’ve been curious about the KI music ever since I downloaded it when it went up on the VC. And yes, it seems kind of MIDI based to me too, so hopefully they won’t use these versions like they did with Zelda TP. (Even if it sounded good, I’m pretty sure those are just MIDIs.)

Man i’m getting tired of this sonic thing.. i’m a sonic fan since i was six and had my master system and i really hope he’s in brawl.. i believe if he’s in the game he’s going to be revealed in dojo or in a trailer a few days before the game comes out to drive ppl insane to get it (and yes i said this before..)
I’m really tired of all this rumors and fake pics and stuff.. i wish they would confirm the ******* or just say: NO HE’S not in the game! so taht ppl would stop creating those pics and false expeculations and rumors.

They music was cool by the way, but it wasnt the best we’ve seen so far.

Another reason it’s fake: Sakurai has said (and damn if I can remember where) that Snake is going to be a secret character that he only revealed early to build hype. He doesn’t want non-Nintendo characters in the starting roster. They wouldn’t put a secret character dead center on the box art.

I don’t think we’ll be hearing about Snake, Shadow Moses, or any blue hedgehogs until post-launch. Or more likely, there’ll be a Japanese pic of the full roster a couple weeks before launch that no one will believe is real. That’s how it went with Melee. I remember people on the boards were like “Falco and Mewtwo? Fake.”

I like this song quite a bit, but it isn’t as good as the others. Keep in mind that the clips we’ve been given are probably not all whole.

Just read the latest update… Pit’s Final Smash… guess that rules out Palutena as a playable character (most likely anyway).

no Palutena… :/ It’d just be weird to have Pit’s final smash going on while she looks up at herself and scratches her head.

Also, regarding the first fake box art post: if Birdo were a character in this game, I would be so amazingly annoyed.

also, homelessvagrant… they’re probably going to have another stupid game-specific code rather than trading the wii code, so you’ll just have to trade all over again. I’ll definitely be looking to trade with people on this board too though.

Wow, I woke up in the middle of the night and decided check out the update expecting Peach And finding this, Why is Pit’s FS so more complex than some of the other characters?

It looks like what Unown and formerly Beedril did in the past two Smash games only less effective. Have to say, unless there’s something I’m missing, this is a pretty weak final smash.
