Ken combo

I can finally pull off the ken combo, but sometimes when the final dair hits my opponent, he can simply come back with an up-b, the character then becomes shining white. I have some suspicions of my own why this is, but I would like your input ( :

I believe you're in the wrong boards, unless you're talking about doing the Ken Combo in Brawl.

What your opponents are doing is called meteor canceling the down air. This works because you're playing the PAL version of Melee(assuming this is Melee), where Marth's dair is a mere meteor smash instead of a pure spike
