Yeah, nobody's here to police what you like.

You are a human being after all.

I mean unless you're a Nintendo advertising bot, then I'd be seriously worried about the mental health of the CEOs.

BlazBlue is partially what inspired me to start working on my 2D fighter for my college portfolio <3
Don't be scared to mention it on SWF. A lot of us love BB <3

Eh, BlazBlue ain't not 'regular oldschool fighting games', sir.
I'm playing it and it's different.

'regular oldschool fighting games' would be things like: Street Fighter & King Of Fighters.

It's more like Guilty Gear, and we all know about the SF/KoF VS GG/BB hate.
(That's because we have awesome airdashes, much more mobility and no ******** mechanics like Focus attack ;D. No Clones and simply an awesome weird name for the game! And last but not the least, HAZAMA!)

Nothing wrong with liking another game. Its normal to wanna switch up every now and then. I'm split between the SF series and Smash myself. When I get bored of one, I play the other. Of course the more fighters you play, the rustier you get at them since you don' devote more time to a single fighter. That's the price you gotta pay for variety I guess.

Also, I'm pretty sure what the OP meant by BB being reminiscent to old school fighters is that its played in a more traditional style, in a general sense. It still shares the same quarter circle/half circle movements we're so used to seeing in SF/KoF, and is played on a similar controller. The ingame mechanincs however are drastically different of course.

I really like BlazeBlue. Can't wait for Continuum Shift, the new characters should be really interesting. It's alright to like BlazeBlue over Smash, I mean hey, my perfered Fighters are the Soul Calibur Series (barring three, if you're planning on playing SC competitively stay away from three. An otherwise great game that's plauged with major balance issues) so there's no shame.

I've never played it I wouldn't bash you for likeing it or saying you like it over smash, but if you were like omg smash sucks compared to BB then you may get some massive haters.

In truth I wouldn't mind trying non smash games but most of the time I say I don't care for them and return to the tit of smash.

Anyone play bushido blade 1? I want to figure out techs and play it at high levels. It's really cool there are a bunch of weapons that vary a lot and a few people to pick from and changes effects of the weapons. like you can fight someone who has a long vs a freakin hammer. Also combos are in this game but it's hard to explain because you can kill someone in one hit to the head or end up hitting them in the arm a bunch.

People should play it I think you can get it for ps3 Also fights can last form 10 secs to a minute http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMzp1IgFkQk&feature=related this is slowish due to the fact they picked one of the slowest weapons(but can block about every attack) in the game also there is jumping but you have to press 3 buttons to even get off the ground not counting aiming and picking the attack.

I played SF before smash but I prefer smash way more.

the sequel had smoother gameplay, more weapons, it was just a more developed game, and happened to be the one i played a lot of. though most times we ended up just cutting down bamboo trees rather than fighting, lol

I looked at it but it looked like kills aren't as epic and their are only more projectiles not swords and whatever like they got rid of the hammer :(

Like I said this past weekend when we were playing each other, I really enjoy playing BB ALOT more than I do Smash. It just sucks that I'm not good at it like I am in smash haha.

Go on training mode and practice your BnB combos. The moment they become muscle memory, you've already moved up a level.

Select a single character that fits your style and learn it really well.
And when you feel up to it, learn other characters.

I played SF before smash but I prefer smash way more.
SF is normally quite slow-paced and concentrates a lot more on strategies.
You would probably would like BB, give it a shot.
