hey, if there is a post about this, my bad. tried searching, nothin came up. found a few on customizing clothes or some ****.

*edit - dont read if you dont want a TP spoiler, though it is not that big a spoiler. (thanks sensai)

so i just watched the ganondorf fight from TP on youtube (i know shouldnt have spoiled it for myself, but i wanted to see what ganon looks like in TP), and saw that he has a badas$ sword. now if ganon comes back, should he have his old moveset (which many of you guys like a lot) or a new one with the sword? this got me thinking, why not both? what if on the character select screen, you could customize your character with different fighting styles? i kind of just thought up this idea a few minutes ago, so i havent really thought it through too hard. here's just a few other examples of how to customize the characters. for link, you could choose what items, or maybe even masks, he uses. for samus, you could choose which beam she will use. snake could have an expansive selection of explosives. crono (keep your fingers crossed) has a bunch of really sick nasty moves to choose from. mega-man (self explanitory, also keep your fingers crossed). although it would only work for some characters, mainly the ones with many different items/weapons, i think it would be cool as h3ll to be able to customize their movesets (maybe even make moves/items unlockable and start with a base moveset for each character). or this idea sucks balls and would just make the game waaaayyyyy too complicated.

basically, that's the gist of my idea, sorry if it's kinda rough, but add to it if you will. again, sorry if there is a thread on this already, and if so, could some one direct me there.

I'm not done reading, but the post above this has what some might consider spoilers. So be careful.

There, done reading, and I'mma be honest:

I don't really enjoy the idea. The reasoning behind it is simple enough, actually. The fact that some moves will obviously be better then others really makes the whole point of customization pointless. No one would play Linkwith a boomerang if he could have the much better something else.

Everyone would pick the same moveset, and the sucky movies would never be used. Kinda like ember in Pokemon. Once you get Flamethrower, what's the point? I also see a potential for inbalanced characters.

They should definitely split moves up into different characters.

No, same reazon because not everyone pick the same character or same clone of a pair.

But the idea is not a moveset with "Ember" (just an example, I'm talking in Poke therms LOL) and other with "Flamethower", the idea is more you can select your character's move, one with "Ember" and another with "Thundershock".

Now, as I understand full_95 idea and now with Smash therms, I wanna play as Ganondorf, so i'll choose the battle style (remember battle styles in Marvel VS Capcom 2...?) maybe the stly involves a different costume, and then the color.

not sayin that i like the idea, but in your example ember is weaker than flamethrower. and if your any character on melee, just a is a lot less powerful then a smash. so ember could be just the a and flamethrower could be a smash.
again the idea of customizing a characters moveset or fighting style would be too much.

I'd much rather see them spend more time on other things then using it on this.

The way I see it, insted of having a character with 15 different movesets, why not just have 15 different characters?

obviously your exaggerating for effect and didnt really think i was proposing 15 different movesets per character, right? i guess for some characters, i think it would fit very well to have a few things you can tweek about them. it doesnt have to be for every char, just the ones that it works for.

Ember might be worse than Flamethrower, Flamethrower has less PP.

So, if the stronger movesets are tweaked in a way that the advantages would be compensated with disadvantages (slower speed, additional damage to user, stat changes), the character wouldn't be broken.

Some problems with this thread:

1. There is a thing called "spoiler" alerts.

2.The idea is from freakin' Mortal Kombat(the ability to choose different fighting styles)!!!
some problems with your post

1. i edited in the original post just moments after i wrote it that there was a small TP spoiler. and sorry to point this out, cuz i know its kind of silly, but your grammar blows. here's the right way to say that: "there are things called "spoiler" alerts," or, "there is a thing called a "spoiler" alert." go back to fourth grade. (if english isn't your first language, then sorry about that, type all the bad grammar you want)

2. sorry, i don't play ****ty games (well i did play trilogy on the 64, but that was it), didn't know that was a part of MK. now i definitely don't want it in brawl if it was in that ****storm of a franchise.

some one delete this thread please. i dont want brawl to have anything in common with MK other than the fact that it's a fighting game. i am ashamed that i proposed this *swallows frisbee* (whoever gets that reference gets a delicious cookie and a pat on the back).
