Smash Rookie
When I go to a tournament do I have to have an official Nintendo Gamecube controller? I have a third party one but it's not modded it made by Hydra performance. I just wanted to make sure if I could use it. Message me if you know.

When in doubt, use a first party controller.
All tournament organizers make the rules for each tournament, so the decision is up to them regardless.

I doubt anyone will have a problem with it. Just ask your TO when you arrive (or even message them beforehand on Smashboards) and ask if your controller will be okay to use. If you're going to a local, TO's will be a lot more cool about stuff and let things slide. I doubt your controller would be against the rules, but don't be afraid that you're going to get disqualified or something lol.
