Ottawa Arcade Presents.. MIDWAY SMASH #2!!

Project M, Smash 64, Super Smash Bros Melee and Smash Bros Wii U (Smash 4)!!

First of all, thank you for the STRONG turn-out from Midway Smash #1! 40~45 people showed! Let's make things even better than #1!!! We will be advertising locally yet again and Midway will be putting up posters all around their business to make this event better and stronger than our first!!

Already we have been making HUGE strides towards a better #2 event! More CRTs are becoming available, specific people will be running the brackets and the pot will be even BETTER than for #1! Personally, I am looking forward to a larger number of people bringing an Amiibo for our closing Amiibo tournament!

Honestly, our first event was a slow-starter but I had zero negative feedback from people. They suggested charging $5 per event for entry so we have come up with a suitable compromise as a result!!

The Midway Family Fun Park will be featuring tournaments for Smash Bros 4.and Project M. Side tournaments for Smash Bros Melee and Smash 64 will be run if there is enough support from the community -- BRING YOUR SETUPS PLEASE!!

The Amiibo tournament will close the event.

VENUE FEE:

- There is a venue fee of $10. Midway Family Fun Park has a "pay per play" for their non-Smash packages. Please consider using their arcade machines and other gaming events while you are there! They have been truly gracious to have us on their premises.

- You can contact Midway about their rates.

SETUPS

Setups would be appreciated. This includes a monitor or flatscreen for Smash 4 and medium-sized CRTs for Smash Bros Melee and Smash 64. We mostly need CRTs but would not turn away any offers to borrow monitors for the duration of the event!

In event #1, a medium sized drink and slice of pepperoni OR cheese pizza was available for $5.

Parking is available outside the Midway Family Fun Park.

OFFICIAL TOURNAMENTS:

Pricing has changed a little to accomendate a better pot.

- $5 for kids for venue+play.
- $10 for adults for venue. For adults, as suggested by competitive players from the last event, an additional $5 per game that you wish to register for. So, for example, if you register for Smash Melee and Smash 4, it would be $5 for Smash Melee Singles and $5 for Smash 4 Singles. This allows us to give you a larger pot than what we could do with event #1.

PRIZE DISTRIBUTION:

All tournaments will have the following pot split per tournament bracket. (ie. Smash 4 Singles, Project M Singles, etc.)

1st Place – 60%
2nd Place – 20%
3rd Place – 10%

We did Amiibo awards for June and may do that and more for July 2015!

BRING YOUR OWN STICKS/CONTROLLERS:

Please have your own 3DS or controller ready to play. We will only be providing controllers for the casual setups if needed.

BROKEN STICKS/BUTTONS:

If you have any stick/button problems at anytime then STOP PLAYING and get up and inform the nearby supervisor(s). The stick will be fixed or changed and the match will be replayed at the supervisor(s)' discretion.

We have a lot more crts now and will be supporting ALL the Smash games this month, including Brawl, 3DS and Project M!

Just a few questions, is doubles going to be available or is it just singles? Also, whats the exact time for when PM and Sm4sh will start?

We intend to do Doubles dependent on the demand. We have all Smash Bros games available and can run mini-tournaments to medium sized ones. This will be why pre-registration will be very important and posted soon.

Posters have been put up all around the venue as of yesterday, so we are expecting an incredible crowd of new Smash players of all ages around the city this time.

A schedule will be available soon as the event date approaches!

Compared to last month, which was understandably rough for a first-ever event, we will be far more organized and have TONS more CRTs and flatscreens!!
