from shield..how useful are they?

i was watching a match where some n00b fox kept getting upsmashed by a falco out of a shielded dair...when he should have just shined or whatnot..but i was also wondering..don't most moves beat out an upsmash after a cancel?

couldn't the fox also jab or even tilt befor the upsmash hit?

anyways, i'm wondering how you would best go about using the JC upsmash from shield..as well as how you would punish someone who overused it...i'm guessing shine is probably not the most effective punishment..so maybe risk a tilt? try to uptilt into a combo maybe? i don't thinkyou have time to do a nair right off the ground with any char right?

The only 2 moves falco should be using out of the shield against a decent opponent are grabs and shine. Up smashing is too risky unless its at low percentages and has the possibility of being combo-ed from. Shining will allow for an easy pillar. A grab can lead to any number of possibilities and can be better than shines after certain percents.

If your opponent uses a or forgets to l-cancel from an aerial you can use a shffled move.

this is really more like a fox technique, how to avoid it's overusage: avoid it like you would a shield grab. it's the same concept but like 3 frames slower (becuase it has to be jc'ed 3 for a jc, hits 7 frames later). so there isn't really time for a tilt.

it's 3 frames for a JC move, not 2? 1 to jump...then one to hit a move right? or does it take one frame for the shield to go down or something
