The title pretty much says it all. What are the differences between Marios running grab and JC grab? Should we always JC grab?

JC grab or running grab?

If you're ever trying to cg or sneak a grab into your combo, you will want to JC. I don't really know any real uses for the dash grab b/c it's not like MK's or anything special. So no real extra range, comes out a bit slower and more lag for you to be punished. I go* for JC b/c I see no real benefit out of the dash grab.
