This may sound like a silly question but I need reassurance before I go by the japanese version. Will it work on my 64 or do I need a Japanese 64? Thanks for helping :)

As far as I know, you will need an adapter that sticks into the NA cartridge slot on the 64, and allows you to plug in Japanese cartridges in the top of it. Friend of mine had one a while back to play Pokemon Stadium before it was released in North America.

you can just break a small piece in your japanese cartridge to fit it in your n64.

too bad when i bought mine the guy already did it to me so i cant tell you exactly where to break it, but i think if someone is selling japanese version he may know what is needed to play on NA n64, ask him too!

Its actually very easy. But youll have to sacrifice one of your old 64 games. Basically what I did was unscrew the two screws behind the jpn. cartridge and replaced the back cover with a US. back cover from a different game (I used cruisin' world since the games whatever anyways).

You will have to buy a screw for it though that cost like 4-6 bucks. Or I can do it for you the next time I see you since I have the screw. (whenever that is lol) But it is pretty neat to play the jpn version just to hear the sounds and the tiny differences when the characters get hit.

How much do you guys think the japanese version is worth nowadays? The only listing I saw on Ebay was for 50$.
