Lolz after watching these I bet I would **** these guys. They evidentially don't know how to deal with laser spam.

EDIT: Man I get tired of watching FD.

everytime on FD, this is so tiring!

he wins because he waits for an opponent's fault (spamms lasers in this time) and kills him with a mindgame. always the same. but I don't understand his opponents, he does always the same. recovering (firebird in the air, ff, ledgegrab), ledgeattacks (phantasm), approaching (FJed/DJed aerials MAN ONLY WD BACK TO GRAB! but they shield -.-) and so on. can someone explane why?!

full jump bairs with every character must be the IN-THING in japan.
full jump/double jump + Bair is a quite overused spacing tool all over the world. Just watch PC's fox to make an example.. it's just like.. depending on your opponents' reaction you switch from stuff to stuff.. and the japanese players have been knowing this since long time ago so their way of playing is based a lot on patience (that's why they're slow lol). Anyway they probably aren't as good as the american top players but I'm pretty sure they are very skilled and very understimated too because of their particular way of playing.

Armada, Europe's best peach player can power shield at about the same rate, although if he gets stressed he can't do it that flashy.

anyway.. this is the real problem about Hiko's playing style..

Hiko reminds me of my friend's mindgame-oriented Falco. It's not by any stretch of the imagination astoundingly technical, but I see him as the type of player that watches his opponent the entire match and waits for openings.

Even being a technical player, I like his Falco. It differs from the norm and does exceptionally well.

I would even go so far as to say Hiko is a smarter Falco than PC, he simply lacks the technical force required to play Falco at the maximum.

Hiko needs to learn to JC his grabs, dashdance, waveshine, and laser well. It would make a huge difference in his game!

Hiko does fine. Being technical doesn't mean that you have to perform everything perfectly. Hiko understand the current Japanese metagame and his playstyle involves reacting and knowing the common reactions of his opponents to his style.

He is in no way inferior to any other Falco. His playstyle is just different and effective.

3 Things:

1. I like his playing style. It's not really a camping style more than it is a tactical one. Works well apparently.

2. Kei's powershielding is too good. Wish I had that ability as CF -.-

3. Falco's taunt is better in Japanese. He actually says something.

quoted for truth. Regardless of what may appear from his slowness you can't really know any smasher unless you play against him and I don't think anydoby here played hiko.. still, his accuracy looks insane in some parts so I'm assuming he's really good, he just needs to fix his little weaknesses such as suicides.

I really don't get why people keep considering being technical different from being mindgame oriented.. even being technical if you're planning to do good you're still supposed to watch for your opponent's faults in order to hit him. Also being slow yet winning does not necessarily mean being super good.. I'm pretty sure that even if Hiko is a respectable player both PC Chris and Forward are better than him.

yes, even as Falco.. it's not that easy to stop in most situations and Hiko seems to handle it pretty well.

Seriously if these are new vids, the Japanese are ridiculously behind in terms of metagame. This is like Mathos 3 years ago.

i agree with mathos that guys has sum pretty lame metagame. but i dont belive all japanese players are like that. Bombsoldiers got awsome metagame.

Bombsoldier and Captain jack are the only 2 smash japanese smash players i respect.
and Aniki the non wave dashing pro.
