Japan SSB Tournament 8/24/2013

I would like to go to this, though I do not know too much information about this. All I know it is supposed to be held on the fourth Saturday of August. If anybody could provide more information about this, that would be appreciated. Perhaps we could get a small NA crew to attend this. Also, anybody willing to use buddy passes would be awesome, though it might be difficult when the date is not too flexible.

Awesome to see people outside of Japan considering going. That will probably help persuade some of them to attend Apex again.

Just be respectful and don't rage at their best of 1 tourney format if you get unlucky and suicide to lose a game or something. You know the terms going in.

Im no rager so it will be fine. But I will try to get their opinion on why they have best of 1 in semi finals though. I can live with DL only, single elimination, and actually best of 1 early stages since they have big pools, so you get to play lots of tourney matches even if you are really bad. But best of 1 in quarters and semis is very strange, and I dont understand why they doing it that way. So ill do my best to explain why we play more games each set, and hopefully, ruoka or kikoushi are there and maybe back me up. Im curious if they prefered more matches at apex or if they like best of 1. And then maybe they have more amtches in the later rounds next year, when even more OOC travel to japan =)

This is how they do every other fighting game in Japan, so it's a Japanese thing. Some japanese street fighter 4 players have come out and said that the US format being more fair (2 out of 3, etc.) is the reason they prefer american tournaments over the japanese ones.

It's on Mixi, so unless you have a Japanese mobile number, you can't register/see the content. I think Isai had an account before they started enforcing this. pwned

I'm gonna go on a couple week vacation to Japan in 1-1.5 years, maybe I can arrange it to be during the yearly tournament. Except summer is the ****tiest time to go to Japan =/
