There will be a 32 man 1v1 double elimination tournament near Cleveland on January 27th. The first 32 people to pre-register will be entered into the tournament. It will be taking place at a local LAN center and it is coming along quite nicely. We will be following most MLG rules with the exception of best 2 out of 3 for the semi-finals and finals. Here is the link for the event:

http://www.igames.org/PlayerEventLocal.asp?reg=1&LocationEventID=45519

The entry fee is $10 and the payout is 40%/20%/10%. Entry fee can either be paid via pay pal or can be paid at the door. It starts at 1 p.m. with a 1 hour warm up starting at 12.

Use google maps/mapquest for directions to the event from the link above, it's not hard to find at all.

I already posted this on the Ohio thread but I felt that bumping this to it's own thread would be more helpful.

Biggest thing to remember guys, if you want to come to this tournament, which should be a really good event, then pre-register to make sure you have a spot.

If anyone has ANY questions, feel free to PM me and I can help ya out.

Hope to see some people come out for a great tourny.

I should be able to come to this. I'm trying to secure a ride at the moment. This should be pretty fun.

Yep

Instead of doing the payout like that, why don't you just make everyone pay for a venue fee or something of like 5 dollars? More prize money intrests people more.

Also will this still be held even if there aren't 32 people?

yeah, there will still be a tourny even if 32 don't show up.

The only way I could work it atm is that it's $10 a head, since that is the agreement me and the establishment came too. I will look into the other options next time around.

We already have 7 people registered for this tournament. It's beginning to look like this will be a successful event, so make sure that you register if you ware interested. The link is in my above post. I would like to fill this thing out so that we can make this into a regular bi-weekly event.

In the shadows. Or NE Ohio. Whichever sounds bette
It's a stretch, but I might be able to come. 45 minute drive from where I live...
I might be able to get a ride, but I'll have to check.

I was wondering, can I get a time frame, like a ballpark estimate of how long this thing is going to be? My dad (ride) wants to know if he has time to screw around out there, instead of driving back and forth.

From previous experience, it shouldn't be more that 4 hours for a 32 man double elimination tournament., but that is just my personal opinion. Hope that helps you out some.

Hope you end up deciding to join us at the tourny. Just so you know, there is the pre-registration link at the top of this thread. Trying to get everyone to do this so we can prepare for the tournament better. It also reserves a spot in the tournament for anyone that does end up registering.

Glad that I could be of some help.

Not in this tournament, but with the success of this upcoming tournament, the following bi-weeklies will definately become 1v1 and doubles tournaments. The only way for this tournament to become bi-weekly is for the event to be a high success, so still come out, smash and support the movement!

I'll be coming and bringing 4 others with me... but I won't be able to sign up for a little bit. If you could hold 5 spots for 2 days or so (I'm sure it shouldn't be a problem) I'd appreciate it. Thanks

sounds good, there's a possibility of me and maybe a friend coming. and if 32 people have beat us to the competition/registering, would it be ok if we watched?

there are plenty of spots still open, so i wouldn't worry! I'm glad to see people becoming interested in this. It looks like this will probably become a bi-weekly event if I keep getting responses like this! Thanks guys!

this is good, many people are interested. The only thing I can stress is to sign up on the registration. This looks to be quite a good tournament!

Alright I've signed up...I'll see you all there, if I don't forget.

Tell me, who knocked you out of the winner's bracket at your tournament?
You're obviously stupid the next match was vidjogamer. If you thought about it, then you would know that if you go into loser's bracket early you are going to face worst people then going into loser's bracket later...

I obviously lost on purpose (this kid has a lost dvd by the way) but you're to choady to see it.

Also since you're going to say "Well I got in high place anyways" then I'm going to respond now so I don't have to ****ing see you post ****.

You are gay that is why.

Also if you guys think I'm being a **** I don't care because you don't know this kid and I do.

Demi-God I hope you come up, I'll be happy to play you again.

That's awesome. The best thing I can tell you is to have everyone register for the event in my original post in this thread. We already have 15/32 people signed up for the event, so make sure you register soon to have a spot saved.

flipx: haha so youre the oddball. lol. i think none of us will be using that site ever again for anything else other than registering, we all figured why not ues our real name? the smash community is the only ppl goona be looking at this. and well idk about you guys but it seems to me that the smash community is a good community and no ones gonna be looking each other up cuz im pretty sure 99% of us are straight guys and non-sexoffenders lol (no offense to the gheys and the girls)
