when someone misses a tech and you jab them, what makes the opponent get up slowly or get up instantly?

You can SDI (any percent) or ASDI (low percents) the jab-reset to get up instantly.

If your the victim in this scenario. And as they jab reset you. If your holding left/right you will roll instead of getup. If your holding A you will get up attack.

I thought there were true, legit jab resets that you couldn't SDI out of?

Can Falcon SDI out of Peach's jab reset? And what about Puff, with her jab being so weak?

I am pretty sure you can't SDI at low % and that it is % specific. I just tested Falcon's jab reset on Fox and I was jab resetting him up to around 80%

jab reset works when your character does not bounce up high enough off the ground after receiving a hit, and no tech window is present

any time your hit when you're on the ground, some form of get up animation will take place

if you bounce up far enough, you'll be able to get up attack, or roll, instead of just being limited to standing up normally and getting rested

for most characters, they aren't forced into the stand up normally animation, and can hold an attack button, or a horizontal direction on the control/c stick to prompt a roll

for fast fallers/heavy characters it may require SDI, or ASDI up (and away i think? maybe quarter circle) to allow for alternate actions

As usual, i refer you to my cheatsheet.

5th paragraph in Advanced. It tested that myself with Sheik and Falcon. It may be different with other characters jabs, but I believe it holds true. You can SDI out of jab-resets at any percents, and ASDI helps lower the cap too.

Anything that does less than 7% damage and has fixed knockback does it.

Does anybody have a picture of the stages? It says like BF YS FoD and PS and says like big stage small blastlines etc.

@4 Aces: you may want to resave the image if you like it because i just reworked it. This thread now features the latest version. I'm always trying to reformulate things, and remove words to make it simpler, but i swear it's hard to be both comprehensive and precise.

I think this iteration is close to the final version. It covers everything DI related, and I think it doesn't omit any detail such as "which stick can do what". Let me know if you think something needs improvement.
