It's difficult to consistently do ledge dashes with fox

sometimes I do perfect ledge dashes ans sometimes I just completely fail
are you suppose to tilt the analogue stick all the way down? or just down enough to let go of the edge?

Fox's ledge dash is like the easiest one in the game, but I think it might be how you refresh the ledge (double jumping to ledge, or firebird refresh)
