Smash Journeyman
So I was poking around the forums as I usually do when I waste time, and I saw a thread in Gameplay & Tactical Discussion that got me thinking. It was essentially a troll thread from SaveMeJebus, but I feel like it might actually have some applications as Olimar.
Here's the thread: http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=308027
Basically, his idea was to run up to an opponent and shield, then back c-stick. His application of it was as an option select; if the opponent hits your shield, you grab them, if they don't, you roll back. That idea was debunked by Delux, who pointed out that for most characters, this would lead to a whiffed grab, due to ISSDI/shield pushback/grab momentum. Thing is, we have a ****ing awesome grab, and I think this could potentially be abused to our advantage, not so much as an option select, but as a method to actually score some shield grabs; someone hits our shield, we ISSDI away out of range of things that come out faster then our grab, then we grab them.
Thoughts? Is this already known/used/abused and I'm just not hip to it?
