seeing as how you were playing against Isai... you probably have more experience than i. Try not to get mindgamed by his taunting. try to edgetech/ meteor cancel the stomp edgeguard. sweetspot the edge really well. also speed up a bit. I was about to suggest not ledgedropping air dodges, but it was one of only 2 ways you took a stock form isai. the other being setting yourself up for a suicide edgegaurd. Isai is too good.

he was just messing around a lot. He also did a bunch of taunts isai style (including taunt canceling) It definately was a technical falcon seeing the moonwalks, but i don't see way it couldn't be isai. it could have been, it could also have easily been staged. This guy wouldn't gain much out of pretending he played isai.

That was obviously Isai, he just wasn't going as hard as he could, because he was probably just trying to teach. That Falcon was extremely smart, technical, and had a very high hit percentage. Watch any Isai vid, that is his style to the T, and nobody can duplicate it.

yea that looks like him, but that means you basically got 4 stocked... all you did was laser to fsmash, mix up your game, throw in neutral airs, play people around your skill level to get better critiques.

Either way, I think HDE wants some critiques instead of arguing who it was he fought.

Scotu touched on a couple of them. Try to control your short hop laser better: be able to do it constantly if the situation arises or to slowly approach into a forward tilt or grab. Falco has the best approach in the game so abuse it!
It looked like the camera was made it look so slow, I imagine. However, you need to practice your jump cancel shines; I saw you miss it a time or two, and it's very important for Falco's to be able to pillar or pull off a quick b-air out of a shine.
Also you had a tendency to tech roll right back to him when ever he knocked you away; they can rack up easy damage with that. It's just a habit you need to fix.

How about critiquing this guy instead of frigging arguing whether he fought Isai or not.. Jeez...

I'm not very good with Falco so take what I have to say with a grain of salt. At 0:45, you screwed up a pillaring opportunity. I dunno whether you were discourage by the fact that it was Isai or not but I find that pillars on CF pretty much equal death. I find it very easy to pillar a CF because while he doesn't fall as fast as Fox/Falco, he falls just fast enough and is just the right weight for me to stick 90% damage on him. Maybe the Falcon players here suck though. You screwed up a few JC shines. Learn the timing.

Also, as cheap as I view SHLto be, virgilijus is right, it is the best approach in the game and the fact that you were fighting Isai should have given you all the more incentive to use it. ALOT.

Don't tech-roll back towards the opponent. That's pretty much self-explanatory.

I dunno what else to say. Mostly because I'm not good with Falco but also because you didn't play a player that was reflective of YOUR skills. As it stands, Isai kinda embarrassed you and that's understandable. It's Isai. Could we have perhaps a more evenly matched video?

He actually sucide in the beginning seeing that HDE had kill himself.

Just FYI

4 stock! Technically

Anyways, you shouldn't had bair at 1:29, you should have rolled, but you probably already know that.

Work on all the advance falco techs till you have them down perfectly, then play lots of high level players. This is the only advice that needs giving...

That was definitely Isai messing around. Hell, the guy sandbags in tournament matches, so in friendlies he super sandbags.

Pillaring is a shield breaking technique...

You're right, though. HDE did miss a few combo opportunities.

Really that's a tough vid to critique. You looked sloppy and out of control the whole time.

You didn't use SHL very well... It was more spammed than anything else. Practice moving with it... RSHL is also nice when you're forced to play on the defensive like you were.

You also missed an obvious ledge hog around 1:29... You know this, I'm sure...

That's not to say it was all bad. You l-cancelled most your aerials, which shows some solid tech skill. The only other advice I'd give is to play less scared... Falco is not a turtley character... Attack, attack, attack!

GL getting better... Having Isai as a sparring partner can only help.

Yeah, sorry I didn't critique, don't know why I didn't. You have some obvious talent and tech skill, but you can only do so much from there. You started playing a lot better near the end, shffling aerials and SHL decently well. Just get them closer to the ground and try not to fsmash out of them (the SHLs), that never really works twice, unless you are Shiz. Go for the grab or Dair after the SHL approach, and I agree, Retreating SHLs work wonders against Falcon and every other character for that matter.

You seem to panic when people are off the edge, like you know you have to take advantage and overthink how to do it. Falco has a good edge game, especially against CF, so ledgehop Bairs or Dairs. It all comes with being comfortable and getting used to playing people that play at that speed, I know that was my problem: I could do all the advanced techniques in training and against my friends, but not against people better and faster than me. Luckily, I started playing with DYC and Phatgamer and Darkrain every week, so I started getting used to that speed. I guess what I'm saying is that you almost have the tech skills down, now you just need to be comfortable and confident and just iron out the mind games. Also, continue playing with people at or above your skill as often as possible. Ideally, play with people substantially better than you (Isai) so you can be prepared to face those just a little better than you so you can eek out those close matches.

I hope that helps, all in all, a good starting Falco with potential.

Oh yeah, you will never get 90 percent off of a pillar from any decent player. I try to shoot for about thirty damage or so, maybe fifty if they are at 0. Sometimes its better to just end it with a Bair than trying to continue it with a Dair and gettting punished, just read the DI and use your best judgement.

You played pretty well, but just messed up a couple times and considering isai is a step under god, he punished you ever time he saw a chance. Glad to see you used SHL to your advantage for that was the only way you ever hurt him =)

What I learned by using Falco is to not get greedy while you're edge guarding. If you KNOW they can't make it, don't bother trying to land a bair/dair.
