From the Pre-E3 Nintendo Media Event supposedly. Article says this about 1/2 way down:

Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Release Date – 11/12/2007

Unfortunately, Smash Bros. only featured one playable level, which is what you’re seeing in most of the screenshots. However, there was a demonstration of the game’s Wi-Fi abilities and one new character shown. As you’ve seen, the game looks stunning and in certain instances plays like a dream. There are two available control methods, “Classic” and “Brawl.” Classic utilizes either a Gamecube controller or the Classic controller and plays much like previous entries in the series. Brawl utilizes the Wii Remote and Nunchuk attachment. Various attacks can be increased in strength by moving the Wii Remote in the direction of the attack. You can also add an extra jump when pressing up on the control stick and moving your Remote upwards. Unfortunately, these maneuvers felt tacked on.

Oh okay, so that wiimote users would get extra jump and added strenght on attacks, even though playing brawl with wiimote and nunchuck would be very tacky due to it's fast-pace? I really hope this is a hoax, I really do now... unless the Brawl mode has something to do with the minigames, and classic is the regular games, then I'm happy.

Most likely fake. Source isn't reliable and if there was a playable demo of SSBB, IGN and Kotaku would be all up on dis bit*h.

If they are having wii remote functionality then its going to be precise and extremely fine tuned. Not "tacked on" like that ****** would have us believe.

Well pichu being the exception in smash...one ****ty character. But I would trust them not to throw in functionality on a whim. But yeh I get your point :p
