Is there such thing as a "Spring Spike?"

I was playing For Glory with Sonic, and my opponent, a Mario,
was right under the ledge of Final Destination. So I did my usually edge-guard technique: Releasing a spring above my opponent. But this time the spring hit Mario in a way which made him bounce off of the space under the ledge and spiral diagonally to his KO, just like a Stage Spike would. So would this be considered a "Spring Spike?" If not, what would it be considered?

It's still a stage spike. The springs knockback simply hit him into the stage. Stages that slant underneath like fd's will spike down and away from the stage.

S'all good. Worked the same way in Brawl too.

If there's anything to add to this, double spring is garbage. It has significantly less knockback than regular spring and won't give you this effect.

Brawl+ and earlier builds of PM had an actual "Spring Spike", but it can be used as a stage spike.

I always thought you should be rewarded with a spring spike if the spring is facing downwards when it hits them. Hearing the spring sound and watching them launch downwards would just be too amusing.

I never really considered the possibilities of that. It'd be funny if the spring effect just maintained while it fell and anytime you contacted the bumper directly it just sent you flying in stupid directions.

Then we'll get montages of bad Sonic's saving their opponents and dying.
