Is there a problem if I use custom character textures?

Like, does it affect the gameplay? or the characters hitbox/hurtbox?

I mean, since PM has these things changed.

Depends on the custom texture. Anything that isn't Wi-Fi Safe for Brawl will mess with Project M. Everything else is fair game.

Textures won't affect hitboxes but custom models might, it's the same as every other codeset.

yeah, both textures and vertex edits are safe. But watch out for renamed bones.
