Is PM 100% Wii U safe? Does it even work on Wii U?

I'm a really cautious guy who sold his wii and wants project m. I just want to know if it's playable on Wii U? And if it s, is it without a doubt safe for the console? I don't want to break the system...

Yes and yes. It operates in exactly the same way as on Wii. Just make sure not to insert the SD card until you're at least at Brawl's title screen, or the Wii U system software may prevent you from using it (doesn't harm the console in any way though).

I wonder... Once the GC controller adapter is released, this and other Wii games should be able to be used with it like with the Wii, right? It's just an adapter after all, I'd assume as much.

We're not sure how it's going to work yet, so that's completely speculation at this point. Nintendo has stated that the adapter will only be compatible with Smash U, but whether or not we can force it to work with other games via homebrew, whether those games are Wii U or Wii, will depend completely on exactly how the adapter works. Also, Moydow, I'm not really sure what you're talking about with not inserting the SD card until Brawl's title screen--I always have my SD card in my Wii U from startup to shutdown, and nothing has ever happened that has prevented me from playing the game.

Thought I heard somewhere that that was the case. Don't use my Wii U for PM though, so I've never actually tested it myself.
