Is not having rumble a handicap?

I'm pretty new to getting into Smash and recently I picked up a wired Zelda controller from Gamestop. I like the way it looks a lot but after reading the instructions and trying it out for myself it appears to lack rumble functionality. I couldn't find anything via search but do competitive smash players depends on the rumbles for cues on stuff? Thanks!

Nope. Its purely preference. You are missing out on some cool feedback, but a lot of people prefer it with no rumble.
