Abit slow at first but you sped up quite nicely. Your Marth is perfectly fine for a tourny; much better than the one I've used at my first tourny. Just don't be predictable or careless

Don't fret about not being good enough for a tourny, you go to them to grow and learn how to improve.

.......you're from SoCal......my prayers will be with you

Your marth is good. Try not to use air dodges too much because Marth's suck. Not like shieks where its pretty much unpunishable if you time it right.

uh, I guess it's pretty good. Falco messed up so many times in the vid tho,

Try not to run away too much to avoid combat, U spent like half of the time just runnin gaway from falco, I guess it's a techinique so watever.

I could probably go in-depth on a critique, but I'm working on this marth guide currently so...

For now, make your marth more mobile by wavedashing out of shield. I saw you rolling as a method of approaching. You should also do more dashing to shield when approaching.

There's no such thing as "tournament ready". You're not going to win the tournament at this level of play (and in SoCal lolz), so what does it matter if your marth is ready or not? Use the tournament as a chance to learn and improve.

I don't expect to win, but to place decent. Not trying to be mean but I got the "go to tournaments to improve" speech a year ago....=/ Maybe I should take advice specifically against Falcos because Wd'ing out of shield has nvr worked against them and rolling as an approach? Was I really?

Zeela: please point out where I "ran away" :)

ok, I'll go more in-depth:

- stop trying to shield grab falco unless you know the falco sucks so much that it misses l-cancels. You were grabbing when falco wasn't even in front of marth.
- DI away when falco is comboing you (like at 2:50). Many falcos will try to keep changing their location in respect to marth (i.e. behind instead of in front) to make things more difficult. That falco should not be able to get so many dair to shine/utilt combos in a row.
- fsmash can't go through the platforms on DL64
- stay on the stage when edge guarding falco unless he does his firefox, in which case marth has tons of options.
- Don't put yourself on the ledge during falco's invincibility frames. Instead, you could try jumping above a platform, wavelanding onto it then pressing Z to light shield. If falco lands on the platform to grab you, then you can either jump off, wavedash off, or roll to the other side.
- Don't use your floaty side B unless you have to (like at 3:00 and you did it once before also) because you only have one until you land and do a wavedash/empty jump.

There is a thread made by Emblem Lord on approaching falco, but that didn't seem to be much of a problem in your case. I think you were too aggressive; the falco hit you too much, and you weren't reacting to what the falco did. You just seemed to be constantly approaching falco with fairs and nairs (which could have been spaced better).

You seem fairly knowledgeable based on your playing. What other characters do you play better than marth?
