Is it normal to freeze the game in SSE?

I was speed running the game's adventure mode(SSE) so i picked The Swamp stage, i chose sonic, and i picked INTENSE difficulty.
I dashed through the FIRST room like nothing and i also used the spindash glitch(The one where you spindash of a slope and you start flying). When I got to the door I entered it and my Wii crashed for no apparent reason.
Any explanations?

P.S.Moral Of The Story(JOKE) Never go to fast in a SSE stage.

Maybe the Wii had a hard time inputing all the colors cuz you were going too fast?

Or maybe your Wii was just overheated.
