Is it just me, or is the dash attack amazing?

Is it just me, or is kirby's dashing attack really good?
It's a persistent pummel with a very well placed disjointed hitbox (with good range), does fair damage, and seems like it should have combo potential. The lag on the end isn't bad, and it just doesn't seem punishable against many characters. The pummel isn't affected much by perfect shielding, persists longer than ground dodges, and has decent knockback on shields to avoid quick turnarounds or shield grabs if you attack past them.

I don't see players throwing it out very often in vids, though.

It's interesting, because kirby's dash attack in melee was absolutely terrible (possibly one of the worst attacks in the game), and it was pretty mediocre in SB64. Is it bad habits?
Or is it just my imagination that the move is worth anything at all in brawl? (I play wifi, so the lag makes hitbox persistance that much better)

Any dash attack is amazing compared to kirby's melee dash attack. His dash attack in brawl can be DI'd out of though, which is probably why you see people using it sparingly, so people dont expect it.

64's dash let me build up damage on Sector Z quite effectively. :O

Yes, I use the dash attack myself to punish bad shielding. Nearly every time I use it, the player doesn't shield the final hit and it sends them airborne.
