Is it bad to use the c-stick for uptilt chains?

I was told that it's bad to use the c-stick for grounded up-tilt chaining- comboing into itself (as Fox for example), due to the 'end lag' and its only good to use c-stick for single tilts?? Is this true? I just got used to using the c-stick for my uptilts so I hope this isn't the case...

There's no reason why using the C-stick instead of A+Direction would somehow cause more endlag on the same attack.

Yeah that's what confused me. Here's what they said:
"If you're trying to chain tilts together, don't use the C-stick. It's really only beneficial for tilts that come out fast but have endlag. Because of the way the stick has to reset to 0 each time in order to register a new input, it's not worth the effort.
If you want to chain utilts with Fox, learn how to do them manually. You'll do yourself a huge favor." Another one:

"I'm a fox main too and I do tilts manually, mainly because I get a lot of my kills by running upsmash and trying to do them without the c stick was pretty annoying. However there was a point where I use c sticks for tilts and I just didn't find it reliable enough. As someone else mentioned, the end lag was too much and threw my timing off a lot. It took me a while but using tilts manually has greatly improved my game."

So yeah, not sure what to think here.

I guess what they mean is that there is only so fast that you can flick the c-stick. I'm not sure if that's correct or not. However, either way, I would not recommend using the c-stick for tilts. Ultimately, the c-stick is best for aerials and smashes and the A button is best for tilts and other grounded moves. Just my two cents.

Tilt stick is better because it gives you more freedom with Cstick aerials. It's also good for PP tilts, which are generally more useful than PP smashes. Utilt strings do feel easier to do manually for me(except Ryu, who tilt stick is nigh-mandatory for), but tilt stick is for most characters the superior option.

In my experience the only difference is the stick resetting to the center before you can repeat the u-tilt. However, if you learn to just flick the stick as opposed to pushing it, the difference is negligible, though I understand why someone would want to use manual u-tilt to get them to come out as quick as possible.

There isn't increased end lag, but successive tilts performed using the c-stick do come out slower versus just holding up on the control stick and mashing your attack button. If you want to clearly see this effect, just try it with Ryu.

So would it be bad to still use the c-stick for uptilt chains as Fox for example? I know a lot of people use the tilt stick, but for chains idk

C-stick for tilts has it's place, ryu fo instance gets a far scarier weak up tilt from it, especially on fast fallers, as he can move just ever so slightly after a tilt, and turn left or right, basically you can lock some characters with this, and if they don't save their second jump so they can escape at mid to mid-high %'s, or have an aerial fast enough to trade hits with ryu, they can get trapped even longer *coughpoorfalconcough* Which can also lead into a nasty true Shoyuken. C-stick for tilts also makes it far easier to land a pivot forward tilt as ryu.

I'm sure other characters can still benefit from c-stick tilts, perhaps not as much as ryu, but there are still some others.

if you have tilt to jump off I wouldn't use c stick to up tilt in fact characters. the reason is if you don't space them out long enough they won't go thru. where as holding up and spamming A let's you tilt as fast as possible.
If you're using a char with a slow up tilt this prolly won't matter.
it allows for a wider margin of error, that's all. at perfect timing the same result can be achieved using either.

The only problem you MIGHT run into (which I'venever encountered) is if you press the stick diagonally you'll do a jab which isn't what you want. But like, that's not gonna happen so...do what you want
