Want to get new controller. It has a turbo button. Or should i get the adapter but I hate how it only works for smash. What are your thoughts on the hori battle pad

If it's wireless, then generally you'd want to avoid it.
You'd need an adapter anyway for a wired controller, so I'd go for that.
At the end of the day though, it is your decision

I'd say get a GC controller for tournaments, even if you don't use it at home. The Hori is wireless, and wireless controllers can cause logistic issues at tournaments. Not only that, but most tournaments ban the Hori anyway because it has a turbo button.

You can Perfect Pivot with every controller except for the horizontal wiimote as long as you get your timings right.
