Is Falcon's Wavedash that Important?

I have almost no tech skill. I can l-cancel, SHFFL, and barely moonwalk. Does Captain Falcon really need wavedashing to be good? Or do I just suck and need to learn it?

well not really, but it looks really cool and it helps position yourself really well. i have a vid were i **** the computer and i do alot of wavedashing and stuff like that, to me once you learn to do it on command without really thinking of it, it becomes useful.

I suggest learning it, it's good with every character. If you can shffl without a problem learning this shouldnt be to big of a problem

I like doing it after a dash dance to add more smoke. Basically, it helps make your Falcon sexy.

Though not terribly important with falcon, it'll just add another thing to your arsenal and give you a bit more confidence and comfortability when fighting. Try to learn all the techniques in the game if you've got the time and patience.

At the highest levels of play wavedashing is very close to being a necessity with EVERY character.

It increases your options out of shield, which you need since Falcon is a very weak character in shield, mixing up aerials/empty hops/wavelands is very important since you're not trying to get shieldgrabbed... it sucks in the beginning but once you get okay with it you'll just do it for the sexy factor, then you'll just eventually be good enough with it to move around however you want.

It seriously just takes time.
