Is anyone else here not all that interested in the GameCube adapter?

I am not interested on it at all. If I get the Wii U version, I will play it exclusively on the GamePad.

The Gamecube controller is a very good and comfortable controller, but it is not essential like some people here claim it to be.

I can live with a tiny imperceptible amount of input lag. I've been using the Gamepad since I got the thing, in lowest brightness and power-saving mode. Works like a charm and lasts 4-5 hours. I've just never felt a need to buy additional accessories (Wii U Pro included), and I don't go to tourneys. I've gotten used to it and now find it superior to the GameCube pad. Anyone else just sticking with a Gamepad, Pro Controller, or their old Wiimotes/nunchuks?
Yeah I'll be using the gamepad, but can't ya see how its beneficial to lots of people to have a gamecube controller adapter?
Pro controllers cost $50 each, gamecube controllers are less than half the price. The adapter and 3 gamecube controllers might actually be cheaper than a single pro controller, and you'll never have to worry about charging them! Plus, many people used gamecube controllers for all 3 smash bros games on the wii.

The pro controller boasts an 80 hour battery life, the wireless gamecube controllers can last for over 100 hous but they don't have a rumble feature. Also, if everyone went to a tournament with wireless gamecube controllers, there would be noticeable interference because they can only broadcast from 16 different radio waves, I've never seen wiimotes and pro controllers interfere with eachother but everyone seems to think that they'll cause too much interference if used at a tourney as well.

I'm glad that the game is still compatible with wii motes and nunchuck, because pretty much everyone on the planet has a wiimote+nunchuck lyin around somewhere.

Have fun playing by yourself. The adapter is for people who wanna play with their friends XD.

Sorry man, some people just prefer the option of having a second stick so they can pull off back aerials while jumping forward. I don't wanna force my friends to play with a wiimote and nunchuck while I have the superior gamepad.

Gamecube controllers are cheap, but the classic controller pros are cheaper and compatible with any game designed for the wii u pro controller (if the game doesnt require you to click the sticks)) like Tekken and Injustice .
AND they have a second stick. However they are poorly made and will probably only last a year or two at most before ya start noticing some slight input problems. Also they don't have a rumble feature and have to be plugged into the wii remote like a parasite clinging to its host.

You realize that the Gamepad has a second stick, right?

But your friend will be playing with a wiimote and nunchuck, which doesnt have a second stick.
Normally I'd tell them to use a classic controller pro, but most people aren't adapted to those or don't own one, more people are adapted to gamecube controllers and wiimotes + nunchuck and more likely to own one of those. But out of the choice of a gamecube controller or a wiimote + nunchuck, one is clearly cheaper and better suited for smash bros.

Let me make something clear though, I believe that the Gamepad / Pro Controller / Classic Controller Pro are the best controllers for smash, its just nice to have an adapter for the sake of saving yourself $200 bucks buying controllers if your friends refuse to use the inferior wiimote + nunchuck and they happen to have gamecube controllers lying around which are 2nd only to the Gamepad / Pro Controller / Classic Controller Pro, with their only inconvenience being that the triggers are analog and may be unsuited for the next smash if you have to press all the way down on them to activate your shield.
