I don't believe there really is any age that is too young as long as you are willing to learn. I started playing Smash when I was 9 and playing competitively around 13. I'm 16 now and I still love playing and improving.

Age and maturity are two different things. I've seen 9 year old children at tournaments and online who act more mature and respectful than most adults.

..... as long as they don't chose diddy, than I have a problem.(j/k)

Age definitely doesn't matter, what matters is how you play and act, simple as that.

any age is fine, I started playing games competitively around 13 as well. But be aware that not having control over your internet or the ability to go to tournaments will interfere with your ability to enter and play in tournaments.

I've been schooled by kids who were two thirds my age, so you're probably good with 13.

Thirteen years of age is definitely younger than average, though I don't think I would say it's too young. With that said, at the age of 13 you are still a dependent, meaning you probably aren't able to travel around on your own just yet. Don't expect to go out of state for tournaments for a while.
Agreed

Nope, I went competitive when I was 10.
I wish I could've started that soon but I realized competitive gaming at 14 lol

It doesn't really matter what age you are in when playing Smash it just matters that you are able to learn and adapt a good example would be Wizzrobe he started joining tournaments when he was 2 years old and is still keeping at it today at age 16. So in conclusion there really is no defined age to start smash (Nor there should be) and it is completely fine to start playing smash competitively.

To be honest I felt like I was hungrier when I was younger. I felt hot blooded. I would always got frustrated if I had a tough challenge or lost and that fueled me to become better. I definitely lost some of that as I matured. I still get better of course but my drive definitely has become weaker with age.
