[Preach]

What's good, Smashboards? You can call me Preach (goofy Smash alias) or Nolo (a corruption of my first/last name). I've wanted to join a community or club, and I've watched Melee for about a year, but I kept making excuses: Not knowing which Smash to play, which character to main, the difficulty of starting out, no smash scene in east Michigan, etc.

Yesterday a friend of mine unintentionally motivated me to finally do it, whatever the outcome. I decided to play Samus in Melee because my older brother always plays her, and in a way I'll be playing for the both of us. Plus, I think I like her play style the most.

As of now I don't know anyone in my city to practice with, but I still have to pick up the fundamentals of advanced play, so I have time before I need to regularly play others.

Outside of gaming, I don't really have any hardcore hobbies. I enjoy biking, reading, partying and drawing. I hope through Smashboards I can include Melee in that list. Peace

Hey, welcome to the boards! Samus is really tough character to play, but people still seem to be able to manage, so I'm sure you can do it. Definitely get down the base advanced tech before attempting to play at a scene.

Remember to keep trying and learning, melee has lots of new competition every tournament, maybe you can get in that crowd sometime .
