I have found out, and you may have too, that the Circle Pad and Grab button have some unique attributes.
For example, you can actually quick smash down smash and up smash by pressing both buttons.
You can also do down tilts! Oddly, you cannot do up tilts or side tilts or smashes.
The smashes that you can smash can be charged also!
This has only been tested with Mario, and I doubt Link or others with his type of grab will be able to perform these actions.
Pretty neat, huh? Have you found anything interesting? Post below!
UPDATE: Interestingly enough, Link can only use his down smash and D-tilt with this combination. The Villager, on the other hand, can use up smash, down smash, and down tilt. This is odd, but pretty neat!

You are going to need to clarify what you mean.

Edit: I got it. You have to do the Circle Pad input first. Given that, I'm not sure it's useful?

I must be the odd one out but I hae no problem doing those moves normaly. And even if I dont do a tilt and end up doing a smash I just shrug it off because I know its going to happen a lot

I really wanted to get a Wii U because I wanted to play with friends and use the Gamecube controller's C-stick for my gameplay style. I've decided to get the 3DS now since it's cheaper. Hopefully I can adjust.

Does anyone know if you can customize one button to equal SmashUp or one button to equal SmashDown? It might only customize to just a Smash button w/ us having to press a direction. If X and Y are both jump buttons, I could customize one of them?

the circle pad is permanently move
the d pad is permanently taunts
then grab, shield, attack, special, and 2 jumps can be placed on any of the buttons, but you have to have all of the actions mapped
you have an option to turn tap jump on or off as well
