Intentional Lag?

Back when the 3DS launched with Super Street Fighter IV, one of the many flaws in the game was intentional lag. Basically, you could grief by flicking the wifi slider off and on. The game would lag like crazy but you wouldn't disconnect.

I'm starting to see similar lag in matches that I am winning, usually right before someone quits. Is it the same issue?

There was one time where I beat a guy twice and the third match the lag was terrible and it totally threw me off and he beat me by getting smash attacks in through the lag. It's possible, but I don't think it can be abused to the point where it's an issue.

You can't exactly know for sure whether or not they're doing that or it's just plain lag, but from the types of lag I've experienced, I bet people are doing that.

wouldnt doubt it if people are doing it. ive had a lot of people do some normally easy to avoid attacks during lag to rack up the damage (fire breath attacks for instance) that i cant get away from due to the lag. Then miraculously when i have been smacked ~80% worth, lag goes away.
Funny part was i still beat that Charizard every game....lol....

I guess it could happen, but you'd have to be pretty dedicated to get the switch flipped AND get attacks in with decent timing.

But it barely matters, I drop an opponent the round after connection issues start happening. Not gonna put up with that.

*sigh*... I too have experienced this. I'm winning and the game starts lagging for no reason. Or, it just happens to lag at a time that is convenient for the other player to land a smash attack. The suckers who do make the game lag on purpose are sore losers.

Jesus, you tards...

The lag happens cause they disconnect when you're winning and then the game replace them with CPU 3 or something

That's not always the case, you tard. I've seen the Smash Ball logo load for 10 seconds and the player was not replaced by a bot, either.

Once I had lag, I hit the WiFi slider just to disconnect because it paused every 2 seconds. Kicked me out. I didn't do it off/on super fast, just enough to get out of the match. It banned me for 10 minutes, though.

I do realize whenever I'm kicking booty and there's barely damage done on me that it starts to lag. So I wonder...

The CPU is put in if the game is excessively laggy, and its idea of excessively laggy is pretty high. I have had games lag out into a slideshow fest for a good 2 minutes (or so) before it finally stopped and i was very clearly facing a cpu now (why would they use a cpu3 to do this? theyre soooo dumb)
