info.pac refuses to cooperate

After searching for almost 2 hours, following multiple guides written by different people, watching videos, and even downloading programs that are intended to automate the entire process of putting an info.pac together, I can't get it to work. I've deleted and recreated it almost 4 times now, and no matter what I do to it, it will always cause my Wii to freeze after the strap loader. I have tried a trick that I found by reading random YouTube comments on related videos, telling me to take out the SD card on the strap loader and reinserting it once Brawl is loaded, and this let me bypass the freeze and after starting a game and then exiting back to the menu, everything was loaded and working; except for info.pac.

My only other option is to use the Gecko OS loaded song title changer codes that I have found hidden in the depths of the internet (http://wiird.l0nk.org/forum/index.php?topic=257.325;wap2), but I really do not want to have to do this, as there is not enough of these codes available to use for every song. Not only this, but I already have a fully functioning, non-wii-crashing mu_menumain.pac, and I wouldn't be able to match the song titles together because of the length.

Now, I just want to say that in my searches to find an answer to my problem, I have seen numerous other threads with people that have the same exact problem as I do, and none of them got their questions answered. Before any of you ask, YES, my info.pac is under 390kb, YES it is placed in pf/info2/info.pac, and YES I made it using a fresh, unedited version of info.pac.

Please, if anyone has any advice on how to get this working, it would be much appreciated.
(Also sorry for creating 2 different threads in such a short amount of time)

First off, are you 100% sure that the problem is info.pac? (It sounds like you're very sure, so just.... making sure.) Did you try it with your entire SD card in but without the info.pac?

And if you put in your SD card after the strap loader and info.pac was the problem, then loading a stage wouldn't work either because info.pac holds the song names that load in the gray bars, right?

But anyways, have you tried just exporting the MiscData with the song titles from your functioning mu_menumain.pac and importing it into your info.pac's MiscData?

Sorry, I really don't know what else could be the problem. :/

Yes, I am very sure, the freezes didn't happen before info.pac was added and they stopped after I removed info.pac.

I don't exactly know how the removal and reinsertion of the SD card thing works, but it appears that if it is removed after starting with it, the Wii reverts to default settings (default songs, default menus, default textures, ect.) and when reinserted the Wii attempts to switch back at the next most convenient time for it.

I created the info.pac from an exported MiscData from the mu_menumain.pac, so that has already been done.

I'm thinking about trying Riivolution with the Ocarina patch to see if that might, for whatever reason, fix the problem, but... The info.pac isn't of such a high importance to make me switch right now until I've rule out all further alternatives, as I'm not sure if that would even fix it and I really enjoy the convenience of loading through Gecko.

I just got to thinking, is it possible for other things (psa, texture hacks, brstm, ect) to interfere with other files? Could something else be preventing the info.pac from working? I doubt it, but it could be possible.

I opened your file with Bbox. Everything seems fine. BTW, you didn't have to put all of those question marks there, just shortening some of the messages is fine.

Tried it with Dolphin and then tried it with my wii to make sure. Had no freezes on either.

Try loading the game with only your info.pac and see if it really doesn't work.

And removing the sd card wouldn't do anything, since if the game doesn't find a file to replace it'll just look for it in the disk.

I tested it with only the info.pac. Nothing else. I froze after the strap loader.

EDIT:

I'm using the File Patch Code v3.5.1, is there a newer version or something that I might possibly need?

Now I have made a Common5.pac and it freezes after the CSS.

Also, I tested using an info_training.pac and not an info.pac, and it works flawlessly. Seriously, WTF.

Could I possibly have a corrupt save or something? Because I have also noticed that the game freezes whenever I try to go to the random stage toggle. I really hope not...

I have noticed that there is another file called info_mg.pac, and it is identical to info.pac. Could I use this instead? I'm reluctant to do this because I'm afraid it might damage something, seeing as how my random stage toggle has stopped functioning.

EDIT: Nope, my save isn't corrupt. I don't have any problems when I start the game without hacks.

Any progress made here since the last post? I'm having the exact same problem. I'm running a heavily personalized version of the KTAR 8 hack pack and I wanted to add miraj's Smash 4 HUD to my pack. It's an info.pac and the same thing happens. I wanted to try editing the RSBE01.GCT but none of the programs I've tried can recognize more than the first few codes
