Hey, so I used to be a mod here, so I'm sure this will be locked up soon enough, but I need a question to be answered by my fellow Smashboardians...

I am thinking about importing a Japanese Wii and Super Smash Brothers Brawl. I'm just not sure if US Wii-motes/Gamecube controllers will work with a Japanese system. Can someone confirm or deny this for me?

Much appreciated.

Thanks smart *** - I used to be an administrator here at smashboards. So I think I may know a thing or two about posting on forums. I need a question answered and this is the most suitable place to get it answered fast.

Thanks for coming out.

I've only heard good things about Play-Asia. Everyone who plays beatmania imports all their stuff from there.

Well, i have imported a NTSC AM Ps2 and my European controllers and memory cards worked fine on the American ps2. So i dont think it would be a lock on the accesories. Ive orderd a NtCs Wii that im expecting around when brawl is released which ive also preorderd on dvdboxoffice.com .
Im not sure if there is a powerchange between Jpn consoles and American, But Jpn and american consoles need a Powerconverter in europe to function.

I know people that have imported Spicy coloured GC controllers from Japan (they are supremely awesome, I wish we got them down here :() So I think it'll definitely work.

Lots of people have already said they'll work. I just wanted to talk about the Spicy Controller...

To be honest, you really jst have a month to wait, surely spending $200+ for a Wii and SSBB wouldn't be worth playing it just a month early, you'd have to pay an xtra $60 then for the American SSBB (I presume you don't know Japanese and are really playing it for the gameplay and not storyline)

I've been considering getting a Japanese Wii myself, as I live in Europe but it would be tooo much hassle not to mention, theres no guarantee I'll even get the game on the first day its out.

I plan to get my Wii Moded and then buy the American SSBB when it comes out and play that since I'm pretty **** sure us Euro's won't be getting SSBB till ATLEAST late May (Nintendo SUCKS at common sense whenit comes to releasing games).
