America got the Wii before Japan did this time around. I think it'd be safe to assume that SSBB will come out roughly the same time as it does in Japan. Importing is overrated.

Nintendo lately has been releasing its major titles at the same time, or even in the US first. But, there's always the chance that if Brawl goes online, and requires a stronger infrastructure to be in place, that we will see a Pokemon Battle Revolution-style delay.

Hopefully PBR was sort of a test ground where they worked out most of the kinks in their online setup. And yes, localization is probably what took/is taking the game all that time to get here.

So yeah, less text/speech to localize, and a hopefully already proven online setup should speed Brawl along at least a little bit. I'd guess to not expect anything worse then a 2-3 week delay after the Japanese launch, with a simultaneous launch being most likely, and the U.S. getting it first a very slim possibility.
