I'm worried about SSBB Online

Im totally psyched about SSBB online and ive been dedicating many hours practicing and plan to dedicate many more playing my wii when SSBB comes out. I was talking to my friend about it and he said that Nintendo online was very bad, and showed me some of the DS online modes that weren't fun at all, and now im starting to worry that they arn't going to put enough effort into SSBB online which has so much potential. I personally dont have a DS, but does anyone else have a DS that can share online experiences with Nintendo?

I would be really suprised if their online system for a home console is the same for a handheld.
