I'm debating on whether or not to buy a Wii

Like, a new one. My old Wii is for the whole family, and the only games I actually play are Brawl, but if I get my own I'm planning on getting a lot more games and playing more often.

Although in 21 days or so I'm buying myself my own PS3.

Basically: Should I get a Wii Y/N?

Just out of curiosity, how old are you? I've grown out of my Wii and moved onto Xbox/Ps3 gaming. I never play it, and if you think you're headed in that direction as well, I wouldn't drop the money.

Turning 14, and yeah, I'm growing out of the Wii, because there's really nothing else to play on it.
I mean, I'm only considering it for Mario Galaxy 2/Zelda Wii/No More Heroes 2.

(OPINION) Spend the money on a decent PC. All the games worth playing on this generation are ported better onto PC, and you have access to a slew of amazing PC games from the past two decades.

After almost a year of a good time with Brawl, I've pretty much completely ditched my Wii. The amount of quality games that come out on the system are really unimpressive, when compared to the 360 and PS3 of course.

BUT, Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Zelda Wii will surely get my Wii heated up again! :)

ANYWAYS, go for the PS3.

Like CoD4:MW2?

The Wii has like, 5 good games on it. If you already have one, even if it's just for the family, don't bother getting another one. Meanwhile, the Ps3 will have games like Marvel vs Capcom 3....

Screw Playstation that would depend on what games he would like on that system.

5.... only 5?! Where have you been at?! I idmit that the Wii has weaken when it came to high noticeable games around mid 2008 and nearly all of 2009, but only 5 out of the systems life span is way too short. I could name more than 20 out of my head. :/

Yeah 5 games is an understatement.

-Metroid Prime 3
-LoZ: Twilight Princess
-Brawl
-Super Mario Galaxy
-Mario Kart Wii
-Mad World
-Okami (yeah it isn't a Wii exclusive but still a very good port)
-Super Paper Mario
-No More Heroes
-The Conduit
-Punch Out
-New Super Mairo Bros. Wii
-Hell I'll even throw in Boom Blox

Those were some games that I could name off the top of my head, so don't let people fool you into thinking the Wii is a joke system. It does have its fair share of quality games, but it's about the quality not the quantity. In example, I've pretty much grown up with the Mario, Zelda, and SSB series since I first started gaming on my N64, so Brawl, Galaxy, and TP were the only games I needed to be content with my Wii.

Don't get a Wii. Although it has some decent games, there are more quality PS3 and 360 games out, especially if you feel like you're outgrowing the Wii.

The only games I play on the Wii are:
Tatsunoko vs Capcom
Brawl
Monster Hunter Tri
Mario Kart

I can't even think of a 5th I'd want to pick up at the moment. While I'm sure there are still fun games out there I haven't tried for the Wii, the point I wanted to make was that in comparison with a Ps3 or 360, the number of Wii games that you can play for hours upon hours and not be bored dwindles.

A game like Portal, while extremely fun and entertaining, unfortunately doesn't have that much replay value and hasn't be touched after the 3rd or 4th time I beat it. A bunch of Wii games I feel suffer from this.

Does that make sense? I don't really know if it makes sense. I just really don't see the point to having your own Wii when you already have access to one and you're going to get a PS3. Though you're still in high school which means you can burn through games a lot faster than I can...

What everyone else already said. The Wii has good games but they are few and far between. I don't have a 360 so I can't speak on its behalf but the PS3 has a steady stream of releases. There are always games coming out for it. Plus, there are games that don't come to the Wii like the aforementioned marvel vs capcom.

And if you already have one that's just one more reason not to buy another.

Sorry, I came in the thread and didn't read the first post. x_X

That would depend how much do your family play your Wii, everyday, a lot, a few times, or not so much?
